It's airing Monday at 11AM on KCOPDT3, not sure if it will be available outside the LA area. It played last year at the Cinerama Dome. A number of drivers from that era are in it, a few with speaking parts. A decent movie.
I watched it last year at Cinerama Dome Hollywood. The same theater I saw it in originally, in 1967, as a kid. Very cool to see it again in wide format.
IMO it's better than a decent movie. Great footage from Monaco, for instance. And who doesn't like James Garner? (His Pete Aron character's personal car is a '66 GT350.)

Yes, dad took the whole family, was amazed that the "sport" we gravitated to was up on the big screen so dramatically so the rest of the world could see it. More real than any other racing movie to date and the foundation all after to match or be better than.

For me, it's right up there with BULLITT and LeMans. There's a sequence where he's racing while Michel LeGrand's theme music is playing as fields of beautiful flowers are swaying in the wind. I use this analogy when instructing. If you're smooth and consistent, it shouldn't be work. You should be at peace with the car and the track.

I seem to recall some of the drivers shown as "extras" were Graham Hill, Jo Siffert and a very young Jacky Ickx.
IMDB lists Bob Bondurant, Richie Ginther, Phil Hill, Graham Hill, Jack Brabham, Jim Clark, Bruce McLaren.
It's more then a very good film and isn't seen much these days. Catch it. You'll like it.
I missed the Cinerama Dome showing. We already had tickets to another oldie Bullit or Casablanca I forget. Not sure if I can tolerate 45 minutes of ad though I'll just pop in the DVD.
The Cinerama Done showing was with NO previews. Nice to recall what old time movie going was like.
Plus an intermission half way through for a needed pee break.

Also, Steve McQueen and Paul Newman were know to be big in motorsports. But Jimmy Garner was also. I think he campaigned some Oldsmobile's in some series for a time, late 60's early 70's.

I think that the Garner team was just an example that you just can't "buy in" to a winning formula and you need to develope it through a school of hard knocks.
I think it was also an example of lack of development of the L88 by Chevy and that it wasn't such a great racing engine "out of the box".
Chevy didn't need to support Garner like Ford supported Shelby.
