I have the intake youre looking for.
just picked it up for storage, was a little dirty so its currently soaking in de greaser.
I was going to start looking for a place to restore it , but would also sell it as is.

Mine is a small lettered cobra intake (lettering at a slight angle) has firing order on back, but I dont recall seeing a S1MS...  part number , will look again tomorrow
If im not mistaken, the small lettered intakes without a Ford engineering (part) number came on some of the early GT350's and 289 street cobra.

I will email you once i get pics

5S228 had a S1MS casting on rear runner and did not have the recessed area below throttle plates.

I have attached pics , this does not have S1MS ... part number
no other markings , dates , offy marks etc...
So I guess its correct for early GT350 and 289 Street Cobra

We do not know which factory installed intakes the TWO (2) new street Cobras and ONE (1) new Stage I Competition Cobra received as no new car pictures have surfaced and all three cars lost their original induction systems decades ago.  One car as invoiced out during January 1965, one during April 1965, and one during September 1965. In that time span there more than one version in house and in use not counting the racing one made for Cobras in 1964 with no PCV port.

The optional COBRA aluminum intake through August 1964 was the ‘low rise’ model sourced from Holman-Moody designed for 260 c.i.d. engines.

The hot street Cobra option was the 2-4V induction system that was introduced as a street and race option in September 1963 and stayed popular until the end of Cobra production, about 14% of the cars after introduction.

Still looking for a nice unmolested 65 GT350 Small Letter Cobra intake with the S1MS casting on top of rear runner. Must be mid to later version that does not have the recessed area between barrels.
