Title: 68 GT 500 Carburetor
Post by: 428guy on February 22, 2021, 11:57:23 AM
Hello SAAC Experts,
I have a 68 GT 500 that was built on December 29, 1967. I recently read in a publication that the early GT 500's built through February 1968 had the Autolite 4100, 600 CFM carburetor instead of the Holley 715 CFM on the 428 Police Interceptor. Can you tell me which carburetor my car came with ?

                                     Thanks

Curious which publication?

The Autolite carb was the original carburetor on your car. I am not sure where the February date comes from?

There is no way to specifically tell which cars retained the Autolite carburetors. Therefore, for cars built at the end of Dec/beginning of Jan either carburetor is acceptable.

The correct ID is C8AF-9510-AE
