Interesting find.

Seeing as it is an '88, and that's when CS was doing Dodges, I'd surmise that rather than him purchasing it, he made a call to Iacocca and asked if Lee could send him "a few of them little Jeeps for my ranch."

Hopefully this isn't the one that then-wife Lena died in.

Low,but tough miles by the look of the chassis......Will be interesting to see what the C.S. Connection does for it.Gee that guy "owned" a lot of cars.

Probably but not proven - the title shows the estate owns it not Carroll. You need an earlier registration to show that he and not one of his companies owned it. It could just have been something that Chrysler sent to the Chrysler-Shelby Performance Center in Whittier for development work and it never got returned or crushed. Who knows?

It's interesting it has 1987 & 1988 smog tags and another unreadable one. What was the tag they pulled off the firewall? I know when manufacturers crush a car they pull a tag with the VIN on it to send to accounting. In the past the process was pretty lax and many "crushed" cars turned back up. Ford has tightened their process and requires the actual VIN tag and photos now be sent back.

No - that was the prototype 4WD mini van I saw with a Corvette IRS grafted into the rear.

Did Shelby put his name on the title with an agreement that the car would be sold, and some of the sale proceeds were donated to his Children's Fund?

Asking for a friend.

If he did work for Chrysler, and had that Jeep, then you know he hit rock bottom, (just my opinion), He did finish with a high point, which proves we all can rally and make a come back! If they gave him that to drive around in, it shows the amount of respect "they" gave him....(just my opinion)

Lol, don't know why it's such a surprise. When the ordinary John Smith sells a '72 Bronco, rusty at that, for $50K.
Come on, Really??
