Title: Date of Production for Last 1968 GT500KR Convertible
Post by: johnjack on January 11, 2022, 11:04:30 AM
Does anyone know when the last GT500KR Convertible was built in July of 1968?
Also, what was the last day of production for Shelbys in 1968?

The last KRs were finished by AOSmith around the first week of August. Some of those cars sat at Smith until December 1968 before being shipped to dealers, after 1969 production had started.

Yes, the car we were speaking of did not ship until December 20, 1968 (by rail it says).

As stated by both the 68 Registrar (Mongo), and our resident 1968 Shelby historian (Coralsnake), your car was not the last to be built. In regards to the date finished, you may want to reach out to the 68 Registrar directly via PM.
