Can someone tell me what color the front and rear shocks were and also if anyone knows what a good copy would be as I'm not going to spend Bazillions on originals. I asked this question a while back but it was part of the info lost when the site went down.

1-8-69 GT 350 would be blue all the way around. If you can find them the Gabrial adjustable striders would be the next best thing. Those were basically the after market equivalent of what Gabriel built for Ford and used on the GT350 .
The general shape is the same as the later, white ones shown here:

The scripting is different and the blue Z7ZD-A shocks do not use a decal.
You can expect to pay around $2,000 for the "reproductions" and several thousand for a pair of originals. As Mr Gaines stated if you can find the older Gabriel Striders they have a similar appearance.
Be careful purchasing the Striders and compare what ever you find to the shape and construction of the originals in pictures provided. I've found four or five different versions of the older Striders so they are not all created equal ;)

Are the blue adjustable Gabriel shocks for the early 69 GT350's the same as the white Gabriel Striders listed in the pictures but just painted blue?
No, they have different part numbers

My build date was 1-9-69 so wouldn't they be the blue ones and are they fine thread?

Chris, on the Shelby shocks yes prior to the approx April 69 change over. However the 69 GT500 4speed only cars before approx April 69 used a regular Mustang shock in the rear. Those regular Mustang shocks would have coarse threads. I should clarify that although used on a regular Mustang that regular Mustang would have been a Cobrajet 4 speed equipped regular Mustang because of the longer length needed for the staggered shocks .
The 69 early gt500 staggered shock 4-speed cars used black 428 cj (competition suspension 4-speed shocks) on the rear.
