SHELBY GT-H ENHANCED RENTAL QUALIFICATIONS
Customers MUST present ALL of the following:
A valid United States or foreign country issued driver license;
A valid credit card, with sufficient credit available, embossed with the same name as the driver license; DEBIT CARDS ARE NOT ACCEPTED as a form of payment.
An additional credit or debit card embossed with the same name as the driver license.
One (1) of the following forms of government issued ID, in the same name as the driver license & credit card:
Passport - United States or Foreign Country Issued
United States Military Identification Card
Foreign Driver License Provided - must be accompanied by a passport,
NOTE: If a form of government issued ID is not presented, Hertz may consider the acceptance of an alternate non-government form of ID. Acceptability will be determined when the ID is presented at the time of rental. Hertz reserves the right to reject the ID as acceptable for qualification at its sole discretion and without explanation. If Hertz management rejects the ID, an alternate vehicle model will be offered for rental (pending standard rental qualification). An example of ID the Manager may accept includes a photo store member card (Costco, Sam's, etc.), a photo employee ID card, etc.
A return airline ticket or itinerary*+ in the same name as the driver's license.
Minimum Age – 25 years old
Not eligible for Intercity Rentals – Vehicle must return to renting location
Not eligible for Friends and Family Discount Rentals
Shelby GT-H Pre-Rental inspection Form will be completed on every rental, vehicle must be inspected at rental and return in customer's presence.
*The return flight must depart from the location the DREAM Car rental originates
+The return flight must be on or after the return date on the contract
Interesting that is is a GT500. That should make or real maintenance fun upon rental returns! Who is doing th Hertz paint and log changes?

That's what we called both of these with their yellow/black paint schemes. I remember when we shot this in Petersen's studio the whole building was abuzz that Shelby was there.

Looks like a three year deal between Hertz and Shelby American.

With the post title rules Hertz will have to buy the cars and then have them modified. ALL Shelby work is done post title today.
Anything that is done that effects emissions or crash worthiness as the car was certified by the manufacturer is illegal to do before it is sold to the first buyer. Emissions is obvious but crash worthiness even includes changing the front facia - say you used fiberglass instead of the standard flexy plastic then you would need to do crash tests. However the owner of the car can have those changes made without recertification.
Have they posted the rental rates or each model? I remember a decade ago that they were asking over $450/day or a GT-H at some locations. 8)

In 1966 my dad refused to rent a GT350H for me to drive. I was going to pay the $17 a day and 17 cents a mile but I was 16 and not the required 25. Insurance rates were much higher for males under 25 in performance cars. That's the main reason my first new car a 1970 Roadrunner had a 3 speed. The insurance with a 4 speed was nearly double. It was also lower for an automatic but c'mon a muscle car with an automatic in the 70s was sacrilege.

There will be 25 GT-500Hs in the Hertz fleet with 16 of them painted Shadow Black and the other six will be Oxford White which is close to the Wimbledon white hue that covered the first Shelby GT-350s.
Want to rent one? Bring a high-limit credit card and a clean driving record to the Hertz airport location that will have them available. Daily rates will start at $399 including 75 miles or use with additional miles at 99-cents each. The beastly GT-500Hs will be at the outlets in Fort Myers, Miami, Orlando and Tampa in Florida. Or in Las Vegas, Nevada and Phoenix, Arizona. It's an affordable (relatively speaking) way to get seat time in a monster.

Will the Hertz GT500 cars really pack that much power? Even 450 hp will feel like a LOT to the average car renter.
And as for the young show-off drivers... Should we count the time between rental and crash in hours or minutes? Or by the foot.

450 HP will get you in trouble, 900 HP will kill you and others around you
No helmet or roll bars required. So who will be the first with track time? 8)

Big brother IS watching. Im confidant when you rent this car, there will be disclosures on racing/abuse/speeding, etc. By signing the contract, your on the hook for any damages, and possible fines, etc. When I rented a car for a trip to Texas last year, I unknowingly drove on a toll road. Later, at home two weeks later I received a 'ticket' for 16 bucks. IF I did not pay it, my Nevada drivers license would be compromised. Of course I paid it. Lesson learned.

Hertz had a checklist for the 06 07 16s that was pretty thorough. Renting this 900 HP beast I assure you that this list will be extensive

Remember, Ford's SYNC is a monitoring system too. IF you go in for service, and your SYNC tells the dealer you were racing, speeding, etc guess what happens? Warranty VOID.
So what is joy of paying to drive a 900 HP vehicle unless it is for show(off) and not go? If you were thinking of spending a $1/4 mil to get the 2022 Shelby KR with the same Shelby design and power, this would be the best investment in full use test drive before purchase. Not a fun deal for a rental but you can say you always say that you did drive a 900 HP car though you never were able to review its capabilities. 8)

I would rent it for 399 a day, put it on a trailer and take it to car shows, showing everyone that I have the self control not to drive it.....not !
Just noticed that the 450 HP HERTZ hood's are much different than the SIXT Shelby hood's
The GT500H hood is completely unique to the others
GT500H hood looks like the same used on the Shelby (American) Signature Edition GT500SE. 8)
