Something is missing from the story. This one says he was downshifting into second when control was lost. I read one report that he wasn't speeding.

Then when the car started to skid? lurch? something, he didnt have the presence of mind to depress the clutch pedal then brake? Were there skid marks?

I don't see how FGT  handling can be so easily upset if speed wasn't involved.

Please enlighten since I'm sure I'm missing something simple.

Original tires are a mess.  Even a low speed power shifting car gets loose

If the driver doesn't let the tires warm up the car is on ice skates until they do and easy to lose control if you jump on the gas. You heard crash stories because of this all of the time when the 05/06 cars first came out.

Although a GT isn't a car for first-timers, it's still 10000% easier to drive than a 427 Cobra.

Buying a 700 thousand dollar car in order to learn to drive a manual... smart move. ::)

+1  I saw this happen  :o  around the time the 05's came out, a guy arrived at my local track, Mosport, Ontario, Canada, came out

of the pit lane  first time and went hot into turn one, put the car into the wall backwards on the outside, then nose first on the

inside, both hard hits, he had his kid in the car with him, shaken up, but they walked away,  I heard the car was written off. I

have a pic of the aftermath, but can't find it.
