I have a very early 66 Shelby carb for sale. On the airhorn is LIST 3259 and a date code of 581. This carb would be good for a carryover car or an early 66 production car. it could also be used on a 65 Shelby or later 66 Shelby if you were not worried about the date code. The car has the correct metering blocks 4560 and 4756. I acquired this carb from a guy who was selling it for his sister as the husband, who had a Shelby, past away. He told me that the carb had been rebuilt before but did not know who done it. He also told me that the carb had been used but not very much so it will probably need to be rebuilt again. The carb is complete and could be used as is with some new seals. I have some additional pictures if required. Price is $3200 plus shipping.
Logistically speaking 581 is too late for a carryover IMO. Best of luck with your sale.

As what was implied which was those built after the carryover cars .
The original 3259 from 6S923 is dated 581.

There can be up to as much as 6-7 months that the carb date precedes the cars build date at SA
Just something to consider.
0024 & 0031 (67's)both have their original carbs of 633
I also have a 70' Boss 302 with its original carb and it's date is 6-7/months prior to the cars build date.
