Are you referring to the mirror on the door or the inside windshield?

He means the outside rear view mirror and Joyce does great work.

Does the knob look like a ball or a baseball bat?

Pete, I have always wondered if it was suppose to look like a ball or a bat.  I have a bat in my car but bought supposedly an original that has a ball and have always wondered which is correct.

The ball is assemblyline correct.

There are two designs in 1968. One has a lever that flips horizontally. The other has a tab that flips fore and aft. The lever style is predominant.

I believe both are reproduced and because of the day/ night characteristics, its probably cheaper to replace it, than have it resilvered.
