Since the other "It has Begun - SAAC 43" thread has transformed in a poster thread...It's a good time to start an official SAAC 43 picture thread.
I found many good photos over on the "Club Cobra" site with much thanks to Jeff Gagnon who posted so many great photos!
csx2027 and csx3018 were both nice surprises. The "Al Unser Jr" '65 R model has me scratching my head.
http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/shelby-american-inc/141269-saac43-sonoma-weekend.html
Its a real K code fastback that was owned by Al Unser. we did some of the mods for current owner
I almost purchased CSX2027 for $3500 and my car 6S1431 in 1972 or 73. Car had 14,000 miles on it
Didn't have a roof or heater so I said no
Still kicking myself
Thanks Jim,
It didn't match up with anything in my "R" model files. Looks like a nice car.
Hey Steve,
That no heat, no roof deal breaker has to sting a bit. At least your enjoying your '66 Hertz to the fullest these days with both of the creature comforts.
;D
Thanks for adding the link Rich. Great pictures.
More Great pictures at NorCal SAAC - check out the link.

Hope to see more as the days go by. Sorry I couldn't make it this time.
More photos...excellent! Thanks Dennis
Nice row of '68's
Does anyone know this car? I am trying to identify the VIN and confirm the license plates as original first issue.
WOW, I was able to post the right picture. I might get this figured out yet!
Here are #289 66gt 350 and #1947gt500 at the end of SAAC 43.

Rich,
It obviously not cancelled . It was "cut back" to 1 hour and 40 minutes ( plenty of time as it turned out) . Only the "big show" (money race) portion was cancelled. Mainly due to the "mufflers only" required for the first time. I will see if I can organize it for a "MID" year event next year where open exhaust IS allowed.

The noise restriction provisions are stupid.

Wait till they outlaw Fossil derived CO2.
I think they are more worried about when they outlaw nitrates and sulfate preservatives for the vino. They have already screwed the corks.
Any photos or video of the vintage races? 8)
So much fun. So many super smart super nice people at SAAC 43. Wow—I was gobsmacked , really, at how helpful other guys were, when my car needed help. Kirk (see photo below),his crew (John) super, super nice, real sharp, Craig Conley-same—great job on the track prep and installing the 5 speed and building the wheels—sorti The car out. Thank you all so much!
By the way, the 1966 gt350 in Virginia Mustang Photo Blog is my car 2148 parked at the Embassy Suites.

Too bad I can't just post a photo right side up and have it up-load same...

Yea, it seems I misread that post about the Challenge portion getting cancelled. Nice to see some folks taking a few trip down the quarter.
Why cancellation?

Thank you very much for the photos. I was pleasantly surprised to see the back end of my red/white 68 GT350 as I was driving into Sonoma Raceway. I had a great time and took a lot of photos. When I got home I discovered virtually all my photos were under the hood shots of other 68's.
