Sorry for the late posting as JC has started his residency at the University of Miami Hospital.
Big Mike did text out to most of you but wanted everyone to know you are invited to his house in South West Ranches Davie.
Mike says BBQ start time is at 11:00 a.m. b.y.b. and what ever else other food, snacks, dessets you enjoy.
Cleared out the garage so he has capacity for over 100 in a/c comfort.
Please contact him directly, see you there Sunday

I am going to post the conversation and attacks from this asshat here. I had contacted him to ask about the 427 being dealer installed. I was polite and asked if he had any doccumentation. As soon as I asked that question he went off on a tangent. The claim is it is a sevice block installed for some racer by Ford. The usual fairy tale story. Then tells me he worked for Ford for 32 years, so he knows more than anyone else. His defensiveness tells the entire tale.
P.S. His claim it the 427 was over the counter. He claims now it was built with a sevice block. I'm throwing the bullshit flag. Another NYC jerk to boot.

Is there a BS flag? I never saw one. What's it look like? The percentage of jerks in NYC is the same as anywhere else in the country. With a population of nine million, there's just a larger number, just like smart and nice people. ;)
A photo of date code of block will tell u when the block was cast so that will tell u something.
SPEC ED: You need to read the six hostile responses to a simple question politely asked question. If you know anything about the vehicle perhaps you should comment.
My guess is serveral here have messaged him and asked the same question and probably were rude.
Doug: I grew up in a suburb of Los Angeles. They are not like the people of NYC. My wife is from New York by the way. However, she's from a little place called Watkins Glen. I find most of the people at least polite there and the wine better than Ca. I am in the city relatively often because I fly for a major airline. There are some things that are rather consistant in certain geographic locations. Perhaps most there are used to certain behaviors because they are the norm for location. I am well educated, the difference is I have common sense. Book smart and common sense poor is a dangerous disposition.
Would be a fun driver. Love the color combo.. I would put install nut and the bolt missing on the motor mount before doing so though!!!! lol

It depends upon your perspective. At last count, there was something like 169 different languages spoken here. I never saw a number projected about what percentage that lived here, were actually born here but frankly, I wouldn't think that it is very high. Maybe in the 20-30% range?
I've been here all of my life. It has definitely changed and actually for the better. I think basically most New Yorkers just want to go about their life privately. It takes years to learn how to deal with pressure but I still maintain that the percentages of nice good and bad are the same. There are just more people here and more of every kind. It's all on how you fit in but at times I feel like everyone is from somewhere else and it's like Dorothy said, "I don't think we're in Kansas any more Toto?"
I don't defend the place. It is what it is. New York is just the "Horse of a different color. There's only one of 'em, an he's it". It's unlike any other city. It used to be that it was LA that everyone is from somewhere else? Now it's New York. No one owns it and no one will ever break it.
LA is just a different place. I think every big city is a love/hate relationship.

Good morning Florida !
We are planning a road trip in the near future to visit the one and only 1967 SHELBY G T 500 convertible.
Currently located in nearby and beautiful Boyton Beach. Let's plan to make a day of this road trip, have lunch or dinner. Enjoy this vehicle extremely rare Shelby, plus the many other rare and valuable vehicles in this collection.
Please contact JC directly.
Read about one of the rarest SHELBYs ever produced.
http://www.1967shelbyconvertible.com
Can you ask Brian why it's "The only G.T. 500 convertible built by Shelby American. " ?
;)
Just curious....
No, you should ask him yourself.

I wish I were closer, looks like a candy store for muscle car lovers.
Understood, I shall let it go.
Just for the record, I know Brian and we have discussed his car many times. It is a great piece of history.
Cause all the rest were built by Shelby Automotive?
Good afternoon everyone,
Please stick to the topic at hand, the future trip to see the Styles collection.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Kindest regards
Hello,
I had the opportunity to spend a few hours with Brian and 0139 last month. The car is extremely nice and is one of my car's (0100) sister cars. So, I was very interested in all the details of 0139 and its history. Brian was a very gracious host and his research on the '67 Shelbys is second to none. I really appreciate the information he has shared with me in regards to 0100, 0131, and 0139. I am hopeful that the first 3 production GT500s will be reunited and shown together sometime in the next couple of years. That in my eyes will be something truly special to be a part of, if we can make it happen.
Thanks,
Eric

Eric, we are all looking forward to that.
Eric, thanks for posting pictures of your car shod with Man-tires.
Makes me love Shelby Mustangs a little more each time.
I will not be attending, poc is Big Mike
Having the first three production GT500s all in one place would be beyond HUGE!!!
They would need to be parked in order from left to right as #0100 - #0131 - #0139
I sure hope Craig Jackson will be on board to help make that happen.
For me, seeing the three sisters side by side would be far and away more spectacular than seeing Little Red next to the Green Hornet.
One can only hope it happens!
How about getting the 4th Musketeer's and add the '67 red big block prototype. 4 red big blocks - Chicago 2019 MCACN ?? (the concept and three unique sibling realities - just a thought)
"The Big Block Red One's"
Someone needs to find the Lime Gold GT350 #0176 so it and Lowell's Red GT500 V-738-2 can have their own spectacular prototype / brochure car reunion.

Why so mad?
Someone needs anger management sessions...
212-2=210
When the first 2020 GT500 was sold, with his comment essentially implied that a sucker is born every minute
ill will towards Shelby American by making comments that he wished they would go out of business. Putting American families and all vendors in a financial bind.
Openly naming people and calling them derogatory names with out having any personal information on them
Constantly reporting other who provide positive comments on the FL topics and having the moderator remove their comments
Instead of completely not visiting or commenting in the FL area.
Just walk away and ignore us
Starting topics on other boards to undermine the FL region
Posting or trolling today on the FL region
We do recall that you where one of the ones who was anti Barret
Jackson criticizing them on their auctions as we praised them.
See our recent post made in 2019 on the Barrett Jackson auction that occured 2013
Barrett Jackson The Greatest Show on Earth April 11 - 13, 2019
http://www.saacforum.com/index.php?topic=5104.msg44126;topicseen#msg44126
So next time we post something, just ignore it, dont read it and keep scrolling along.
As your negativity and inner anger issues are not wanted in our FL Region.
All your comments will be stricken.
We wonder if Mr Craig Jackson visits the saac site, asking for a friend...

yes, here are the cliff notes
The date is observed to commemoratethe Mexican Army's victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla, on May 5, 1862, under the leadership of General Ignacio Zaragoza. ... In theUnited States, Cinco de Mayo hastaken on a significance beyond that in Mexico.

As we head into Memorial Day remember that this is the day we put aside to remember fallen heroes and to pray that no heroes will ever have to die for us again. It's a day of thanks for the valor of others, a day to remember the splendor of America and those of her children who rest in this cemetery and others. It's a day to be with the family and remember. A day to come together and pray for the families and loved ones who have had someone's life taken away.

We were at a car show yesterday, and saw a good one for memorial day, on the dash of one of the cars. It showed the inside of a C 130, full of flag covered caskets, and said IT IS NOT ABOUT A 3 DAY WEEKEND. Thanks to all who have served. Ron & Cheryl

Looks like mild traffic to me too, especially that overhead view.
Warmer winters sound good to me!
On the left coast that would be considered..... SUNDAY MORNING SMOOTH SAILING. Sunday afternoon not so much- >:(
Last time I was in southern California, driving north from San Diego Airport to Carlsbad, the midday the traffic was far worse than the first photo above.
All five lanes jam packed. Ugly stuff to deal with every day for the sunny west coast.
My last visit to friends in Florida was all smooth sailing, it was all west coast driving,
A previous visit down the east coast of Florida to Daytona for the 500 was a bit more crowded.
Hey Rich,
Contact me the next time you're in that area of SoCal. I'm close by and it would be cool to meet in person.

Thanks for the offer. That would be very nice. Unfortunately, I no longer work for that company. I was there 3-4 times a year for distributor meetings at Torrey Pines and other work related matters at HQ in Carlsbad. I never had much personal time and couldn't even get over to LEGOLAND to check it out. (All my trips to Florida were for fun.) When they closed my very small NJ division they offered me a position in Kowloon (the wrong side of the harbor across from Hong Kong) to run that office, as if I would even consider that. No thanks!
Ok, but if you're ever out here, the offer stands.

Anyone planning on attending either of the upcoming events?
Palm Bay Ford car show on Sunday November 10th.
HSR Daytona Historic 24 hour races Thursday November 14th to Sunday November 17th @ Daytona International Speedway.
Event also includes the final SCCA Trans Am race of the year on Saturday November 16th.
I will put the word out, but its pretty involved to move from county to county;
Assuming that your parole office approves your request to move to another county, they will then submit an application to the county where you intend to move. The parole department from the new county must be willing to accept you on "courtesy supervision." Courtesy supervision is what the name implies. They must agree to supervise your parole as a courtesy (or favor) to the county where you received your conviction. If they refuse to accept your parole, you may not be able to move.
If your request is approved, your parole officer will probably want you to sign a waiver of extradition in the event they want you to return to your original county.
I am showing the Palm Bay Ford show as being on Nov. 3, not Nov.10.
Yes, it looks like the Palm Bay Ford car show is Sunday November 3rd, not the 10th!
Sorry about that!

Just spoke to Mike and Oscar clarified that ONLY the first 60 car registered will get a lap on the track.
Count us out on this event, having to sit for hours for a possiblity to get on the track is not my cup of tea. But that just my opinion.
In case you do not know the definition of opinion I have attached it for your personal knowledge and growth (Definition of opinion - a view or judgment formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge)

"It was a remarkable stroke of good fortune that Phil Remington was building Scarabs at the Reventlow workshops in Venice when Shelby moved in. With nowhere else to go, Remington stayed, becoming Shelby's chief engineer and his knowledge gained from the California hot-rod scene proved indispensable. He was a person who could build any part required for a car from whatever materials were at hand and have it ready before most other 'engineers' had found their toolbox."
