Title: Stuck behind a pace car at 7 a.m.

A rusted out Ford Econoline pace car that is.  I'm going to have to start my weekend drives at 5 a.m.  It seems 6:30 a.m. on a Saturday morning is too late...I did see a couple vintage cars out there.  A 63 Lincoln Continental who gave me the wave and later, a Jaguar E Type hardtop.

Gee Richard, you're turning 3500 RPM so if you're in 4th gear he's at least moving along. If you're in a lower gear, it looks like you're in a passing zone - so make it happen!  ;D

4th gear but wanted to go faster.  A block of traffic was coming at me in the distance.  I got around him when the two lane opened up to four not too far down the road.  "I can't drive 55."

Yep, the only good thing about 55 is that it's just about the right speed to drop down into 3rd and nail it....

You know why he's poking along....

He's looking at your Shelby thru his mirror ;D

When I saw that picture of your tach I thought that you needed an immediate down shift to double your RPM S and let him get an ear load of side exit exhaust. That plus a visual of kicking up all the residual dirt, leaves, chunks of blown truck tires etc. as you disappear into the distance waving SIANARA SUCKA. ;)

Out here, that rusted out Econoline van would be a Subaru.

Once you made it to the 4 lane road they would either;

1) Move to block you, switching lanes to whichever they predict you will want (left lane first).

2) Throw their fear, and political love of Mother Earth out the window and race you, for everything they are worth to stay ahead of you until the road narrows down to 2 lanes again where can stay ahead and show you once again how to drive 5mph under the limit.

I am not Joking.

Prius owners are content to just permanently block the passing lane, Subaru drivers......they have an agenda.

That 4-3 downshift... 6-7k rpm blast wouldn't let them have time for any devious thoughts. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D- ;)

That is a great, super in depth analysis.  I like it.  I good demonstration of the powers of observation in men of car culture while others drive in a coma.  I've seen it here in Illinois for example.

You had some number Karma today. I went to the LASAAC show at Shelbys in Gardena. 2 red Gt350s parked side by side. 743 a 4 speed white stripes and 834 an auto with gold stripes but not a Hertz.

I'm not a numerologist but when I hear things like that, it makes me wonder...but wonder what?

ok, Just wandering 'cause here where I am at in WNC, it's steadily getting that way.

I can't STAND to see a tractor/trailer with his turn signal on to get over and some stupid a$$ Subaru or Prius driver is clueless to his signal and just keeps cruising in his way and can plainly see the signal blinking if they'd just get out of their "Coma" state they're in and let him over.

I keep a CDL-A license and I know how it is.  When pulling my 69 Mach in my 24 footer, if they don't let me over, too bad, I'm coming over anyway, so get the Hell outa my way,LOLOL.

We have the comatose drivers too, but the others.....they are actually blocking you on purpose.

I personally believe these intentional blockers are the instigators of very many of the road rage melt-downs we are seeing nationwide.

There's some guy on the Honda Accord Forum right now:

"I'm trying to open up the '93 Accord right now. As you all know, I have the EX model, and there is some guy in an old Mustang in front of me taking pictures, with his phone and while driving, of this big clock on his dashboard.  Ugh!!!!!"

No pace cars today.  Only open road.  Just the way I like it.

it's always a Prius, the cockroach of cars, mostly driven by slightly balding, beard growing, Starbucks drinking, Birekenstock wearing, tree hugger with a Green Peace sticker. The left lane belongs to fast cars and people who love driving

I'm getting antsy not being able to drive my car for a few weeks. Twice a year we are visited by this plague and the mess they make of your car is almost unbelievable. At least slow "pace" cars don't make you put your car away.  :(
