Okay, I'm a slacker, by not contributing regularly to forums I mine for information, BUT what happened to the HIPO 289 forums? :'(
That's true, I looked a few months ago and couldn't find it
You could here crickets chirping over there for years, not too many contributors, I stopped looking a long time ago there. :-\
DANG the amount of information that applied to our cars was.... ENORMOUS. The loss of the original SAAC forum and now this... I take information on the internet too granted, to be sure.
:'( :'( :'(
Bummer
Yeah big bummer, I hope we have good back up on this site lads
I recall, though not positive, that Charles Turner was the main guy.
That forum had a server meltdown years ago, before this one. It was rebuilt but all the incredible information was lost. It never really recovered, interest and participation became a tiny fraction of the original. Not surprised they pulled the plug.
It died because the owner quit caring, plain and simple, neglect.

While Charles was one of the more frequent contributors, I do not believe he had any control over the site itself.

Marv owned it. I don't recall Charles T having a presence there for many years.

I guess time gets away from me. I thought Charles was involved with some of the recent posting but I could be wrong.
I never had anything to do with the hi-po forum. Jeff and I run concoursmustang.com
As far as I can tell, the hi-po forum is dead.
I used to be an active contributor there. There was an abundance of good info and banter back before the site went down years ago. Once they finally got it back up, it really was nothing more than a place to post ebay listings for K code parts. It was a significant loss. I think so far the SAAC forum here has had a much better recovery effort, but it hurts when you lose all that awesome data.
I wonder if it's worthwhile trying to integrate the information from the HiPo forum into either this one or ConcoursMustang.com?
Don't know if it's even possible, first the HiPo forum owner would have to agree to share the info. Wouldn't need to be an active subforum, just a searchable reference.
Just a thought...
Hasn't Marv recently posted here?
I would never blame him, rather thank him for a good run for many years. He did a lot more than most of us. Those crashes have just killed us and recovery has been slow.
There were some expert Ford technical experts there who talked substance (Fred, C6ZZ and formerly Bob Mannel, Tony Gregory and many more). It would be wonderful to get them over here. Even the residual parts exchange there was very usuable until the end. Our site here has been particularly diminished as a tech site.
Agreed
Hank Doby owns the domain name... I sent him an e-mail.

Web does not forget anything. At least you could save what you need.
2017 and the third or fourth tab to the right shows the index pages for a good start.

It appears the hipomustang.com site has been revived, but without the forum.
