Title: S1CS vs C3RA Mascot Emblems
Post by: Dan Case on December 16, 2018, 10:57:39 AM
Created for Shelby American 'COBRA' S1CS mascot emblem used on all but earliest Cobras versus the C3RA emblem Ford Motor Company had made and Shelby American used on 427 Cobras.

There is no text on the reverse of the S1CS parts but there are on the Ford C3RA parts.

My picture and commentary file covering production mascot emblems for Cobras is way too long and complicated to put in a thread but if you are interested send me your e-mail address in a PM (private message) and I will send information to you.

Did Tri Delta do both the C3RA & the S1CS?

No. I believe you have a copy of my emblems file. ASCO Casting® in California, a direct supplier to Shelby American for the Shelby American sourced emblem.

I was wondering if Mark IV  had additional info on the S1CS-C emblem. ;)

Not trying to dispute, but just FYI, it is spelled "ACSCO Products" from Burbank CA.  A derivative of the original name: "A. C. Stearns Company."

Thanks. One of my web searches years ago turned up the name I have in my notes. I will revise. Always interested in refining my data collection.

Always happy to help the info pool when I can.

I realize that you (and numerous others on here) have huge knowledge about these cars, so thanks for not taking my post as criticism.

Regards,
Van

Thank you.  There are many Cobra technical subjects I work on and many are full of gaps, errors, educated guesses, and unsubstantiated rumor or legend.  Details believed to be correct even last week can be shown incorrect or incomplete this week.  I make corrections and additions to my Cobra trivia files often and it is often somebody’s feedback that makes doing more research the fun thing to do. This is play for me and not only helps me with our cars but helps me answer questions others have.

Ford, AC, Hugus, and Shelby just left bread crumbs of information behind compared to all the details there were. I have met a lot of interesting from around the world during my information and parts hunts. Quite a few people enjoy participating in information gathering and or sharing.
