What Lucas fog light covers are correct, white or black?  Any help?   Thanks

Technically none. There isn't any evidence that suggests they came with the cars originally. The covers that came in the boxes sold over the counter on the type of foglight that was used on the cars during that 68/69 period had the round translucent dot that you would see bright when a light was turned on by accident with the covers on.It was sort sighted that they didn't come included with a car when new IMO. They are definitely suggested to have on a pleasure driven car to ensure the lens does not get broken. In concours they are a deduction.

FWIW they didn't come on the '68 XR7-G Cougars either, so it's unlikely there were boxes of them on hand at Smith at the time.

You can't even get the rubber strap around behind the chrome body when the lights are mounted in the recessed areas of the front valence of a G.

Thanks for all your help, I guess I will save my money and not get them.  This forum is a great resource.   Thanks again!

I think Bob G. said it best, used them when normally driving, and remove them for any type of show.  (Its what I do.)

I have sets of both of the covers, just sitting in my basement, one day I was going to list them on ebay, now is just as good as time as ever, will sell for a reasonable price.

Bought new lens in early '70's. Paid outrageous $35, so I bought the covers at the same time. Other than checking to see if they still work, I don't think I have ever turned them on again. :D
