Title: Kick Panel Insulation
Post by: Corey Bowcutt on February 10, 2019, 05:01:26 PM
I am replacing my repo kick panels with originals and I see in NPD they sell an insulation pad for kick panels.  My car currently does not have this insulation.  Did the cars come with the insulation or is that just something folks add for thermal and noise improvements?

Yes, there was insulation installed originally, just glued on to the back of the kick panel.  It was a pre-cut piece with round openings where the screws pass through.

The Repro pad is not like the OE ford.  They will not sit properly. I would go with a thin acoutic sound deadner.  That way you don't wind up breaking the kick panels.  Also be sure to buy the Drake panels. The other ones are made of a soft plastic and if you have to dye them the dye does not stay on them.
