Title: Looking for owners and cars to feature
Post by: JP Emerson on March 27, 2019, 10:23:07 PM
Hello friends,
I am currently looking for owners and cars to feature for magazine articles. I have corresponded with several of you previously with great appreciation. If you are interested in sharing your story in Ford Muscle magazine (or others) please contact me @ jp@jpemerson.com .

I have included a few previous articles from other SAAC members below for reference or you can visit jpemerson.com for additional examples.

Cars do not need to be perfect examples and I am open to all brands provided they are vintage.

Thanks for your time.

In that first article you show 2 separate cars that both have the description (underneath) of being his first Shelby..............

What is there for him to chime in about? Both cars are captioned as being his first Shelby. I'm merely pointing out an editing error. Nothing more nothing less.
I'm sure it meant to say something like "first car" and "first 65."
But it doesn't
No worries

I did understand your reference. My reply was simply for clarification only since I don!t know if the error was on my part or in the edit. My apologies to both in either case for the error.

Love these articles JP!  Keep it up.  I typically hit the Ford Muscle site while having my morning coffee, just after I check the latest on SAAC Forum  :)

Sorry guys, didn't see this post yesterday. The blue GT350H was my first and, like every other car, I shouldn't have sold it!

Kind regards,
Vern

I'm in for a write up...I have a car with a story - Found behind a house in Texas, personal restoration within the community of support, just won a class award at Amelia for a "triple crown" win in concours class. Now the son of the 50+ year old dealership that sold the car has provided a photo showing it on the lot in 1965. Might make a good read!

Don't see a way to contact you. I bought my Hertz in 1967, and still have it. It's a driver, not a trailer queen. Ron

Hi JP,

I enjoyed your article on Dave Eber and the photos of his beautiful '66 GT350 and '92 SAAC MKI 001. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the very important third person involved in the development of the SAAC Mustangs, Dave Wagner. Together the trio of Rick Kopec, Ken Eber, and Dave Wagner brought these cars from concept to production. Dave Wagner was the 'go to guy' at Ford as the manager of Ford's Power Products Operations group at the time. He did the development work and parts testing on the prototype SAAC car, the '91 SAAC MKI XX1.

The day to day operations of the SAAC Car Company were then handled by both Dave Eber and Chris DiMarzo. They both helped to build and deliver the production models.

I know it likely too late to make any changes to the article, but at the least anyone reading this post will know a bit more about the important people behind these special cars. Further information on the '91-'93 SAAC Mustangs can be found in the published 2014 SAAC registry. I should note, Dave Eber was a tremendous help in updating the history and detailed information for each of these SAAC Mustangs.

Rich,
Thanks for the additional info. Other than passing knowledge of the '92's I admit that it was very educational to learn more about these cars. Certainly any undertaking such as this requires many individuals to make it happen.  I appreciate the opportunity to get to know them better as well as those who played such an integral part in their development.

Great story!  Congrats!

I was a little surprised there was no mention of it possibly being a factory 4 speed Hertz car.
