+1 seldom seen but some were done by factory and dealer before delivery. 9F03R483224 that I had at the spring fling had Factory installed AM 8 track according to the Marti report.

The length of the knob shafts . 69s are longer. Mike(from NM) who owned a dealer installed 69  8 track radio in his 68 GT500KR could never document it so when Tim Lea restored the car I bought the AM 8 track and put it in my 69 428SCJ Mach1 as it came from the factory with one. I measured the shafts and 68s are shorter hence you can put a 69 in a 68 but not vice versa(?). Faces are the same as far as I know when it comes to AM as I got both 68 and 69 AM radios in my cabinet. Gary
Title: 8 Track for 1969 GT 350

My car last 4 numbers of VIN 1288 came with AM 8 track player.  It now has the AM/FM radio in it.  Any ideas on how I could find a 1969 AM 8 track I could put back in it.  Thanks.

Start by placing a wanted ad in that section of this site and on other Mustang Forums since they are the same as well as educate yourself as on how to determine what an original looks like compared to other ones you may get offered. Often they will need to be rebuilt since old rubber belts don't hold up well over time and so on

Good luck with your search

Look for a guy named Bruce Glocke on Facebook, he's in Manawa Wisconsin. He's parted out a bunch of Mustangs and is on the 69-70 MACH 1 FaceBook site selling parts. I've bought a few things from him and he has a lot of stuff so he might have an AM 8 Track. I bought an AM Radio from him and about to get a clock.  I joined that Facebook site because so many parts are the same as on a Shelby and I've found they can be cheaper because sometimes it's more expensive when you ask for parts for a "SHELBY"   I have gone on that site and just asked if anyone had something and have had multiple responses.

Thank you for the 2 quick responses from 2 senior forum members SChatman and J_Speegle for my quest for the AM 8 track player.  Your knowledge and help is very much appreciated.  Happy Thanksgiving with much gratitude!

^^^  FYI-----A '71 thru '73 Mustang unit would actually still be AM only and look similar to the '68-'70 units.  You may already know this.  I'm just clarifying.
