Wow, they went all out on this one!
Only 45 to be built.
At least one needs to be shown in an art museum.
And only $1.2 million.
Steve
"Hell of a way for you to get your kicks".............
Isn't this essentially a 'works' race car?

Works for me ;D

Good video synopsis. Ford should charge $2 million.

And in Larry Holt Chief Technical Officer's words...

Originally the MK2 was a big block. At the least they could have put a V8 in it.
Interesting observation. The miracle is that Ford even built it to begin with.
Hey Ford!
No V-8
No NFGT
Larry Holt gave a very informative interview in the above youtube video.
Thanks for sharing that one!
With 735 very conservative H.P. out of this car who needs a V8 ;D. In track form they were hamstrung at 430 HP due to the Balance of Power non sense, competitors (ne: GM) insisted on the BOP to "level" the playing field for the Corvette.
1.2 million in cash and a new top of the line Corvette side by side with the new Ford GT MK 2. Which one to choose. Hmmmm. That's a tough one. Not!
It was cool at the conventions after the 05/06 cars were built and watching them on the track. It would be great to see one of these out there in the Advanced group laying down a few rediculous laps.
If one were religiously careless one could almost build an entire religion around this car and give it burnt offerings of racing fuel and the occasional Porsche sacrifice or Corvette or Jaguar etc choose your Marque. Would I be so crazy to do so? I haven't ruled it out.
^^
I think it makes perfect sense. Especially the Porsche at the alter.
Lol Bigfoot! I wonder how many adherents there must be in order to establish such a religion or any religion for that matter. Two, a hundred, a thousand? There must be a time factor to it as well. It must last a certain amount of time. Not like five days and it's over. Plus documentation of the rituals involved. And a deity. Well we already established that. The Ford GT Mark 2 of course. The internet must know.
Addendum. Found it. A legal definition.
According to 18 USCS ยง 1093 the term religious group means "a set of individuals whose identity as such is distinctive in terms of common religious creed, beliefs, doctrines, practices, or rituals."
I think this could work...lol!
Looked up how to create a religion and there is a wikihow on it as follows.
Write a plan. Starting a religion will require a significant amount of planning. ...
Develop a cosmology. ...
Select a name for your religion. ...
Develop a list of your religion's core tenets. ...
Talk to people about your religion. ...
Find a meeting place. ...
Read about historical examples.
The historical examples could obviously hearken back to the old GT 40.
Go the meeting place...why at the track of course. And so on.
