Thanks for letting us know, I set my DVR for it.
Poor car....... :o
...... wonder if it will have ghost skulls and flames in the paint job from Horny Mike. "Always a good look on a 69 my brother-"

Gives a whole new meaning to the "power flush" option.
vince and gary with D
The Magnums were a nice touch :( I think my favorite was the 1965-66 FRONT sticker applied to the air cleaner. The re "anodized" (NOT) carb was special too.
Randy
I love the color and a good story from the guy owning it since the early eighties. He probably paid them $80K to put it back together.
If he restores it into"an instant classic",What was it before??It makes my head hurt...
Plus they don't "build" motors at the Shelby facility. Denbeste in Ca or HBR competioin in Vegas does their stuff.
Loved those.." SHORTY HEADERS " that somehow wouldn't fit !!... ;D
Is the owner kept in the loop at all during these restorations? I know the owner of this car wanted it to be left as original as possible. I guess "as possible" are the key words. Too bad there wasn't more on the actual restoration of this car, especially the rust issues.
Craig R.
really surprised the car isn't being picked apart here.
From the Body color Engine Bay to the Magnums.
Although I might be willing to believe the Magnums were put on while the Correct wheels were being restored.
And why didn't they just reskin the doors?
Don't lose sight of the fact these car building reality programs are aimed toward the visual. So if the construction details, parts etc aren't exactly right, it doesn't matter. What matters is the visuals and the dramatic story arc such as how they replaced the floor pan in half an hour in order to meet a car show or auction deadline.
Yes, in other words: Fantasy TV.
You don't have"rust issues "if you have bonds,duh... :o
You dont think Magnums are correct for a 1969 Shelby?

No deductions in a popular vote show. 8) Same for the aluminum "Shelby" intake and water pump. The clueless are still clueless.
Im thinking Mr Gaines needs to answer the Magnum question :)
Too bad the popcorn imoge is gone. Magnums on a '69 Shelby would be a first for me.
popcorn anyone???

I think some Shelbys still have their "original" Magnums on them. Bob?
boss 15'' magnums were used on some 69 shelbys during the 69 shelby wheel recall glue in vs riveted in centers. and the lugnut machining depth to deep and the 69 shelby lugnuts were bottoming out on some wheels.
KABOOM!

Sorry, Ed, I would of asked you in my post but I thought where you were at you wouldn't be able to answer. :)
I knew the answer but thought some wanted the answer from the experts. :) . Gary
Generally speaking I dont like cutting up someones car (unless they ask for it) and....
...I was willing to cut them a lot of slack, until I saw red engine bay. :(
I have spoken to many AOSmith employees and for people to continually denigrate the work they did is insulting. Gary P owes them an apology for saying " they didnt care what the cars looked like "
You would think they would get the side strips right compare pass side to drivers rear panel side lights
Stripes not strips

Yes the red fender wells were very moparish. The A.O. Smith employees had to do with what was given to them, quality wise and meet their timeline. I believe they did care about quality and they did the best they could with what they had.
