Title: 69 GT500 Radiator Hose Question
Post by: mtdubvee on July 31, 2019, 09:40:25 AM
Silly Question, but for a 69 GT500, which side should the bottom radiator hose be on? Driver side right. Friend of mine got his radiator back from being recored and The bottom tank changed and i think they put the wrong tank on the bottom. This one is on the left. C9ZE big block radiator/

Thanks

Should be on the drivers side, on the bottom tank.

Otherwise its really hard to get to match up to the water pump  ;D

It may be a stupid mistake and they put a different bottom tank on but they may also have switched the complete radiator on him. In many cases it is cheaper for them to buy a complete replacement radiator then to recore a original. Check for the Ford trademark on top .  They may or may not have just replaced the side straps with the engineering number to make it look like the original radiator. Unfortunately I  have seen all of these things done by radiator shops in the past . I think it is much more likely they replaced the entire radiator and ordered a smallblock one by mistake ( bottom hose opening on passenger side) then if they switched he bottom tank. Sorry I am just a little cynical given what I have seen .
