NOT MINE.
I stumbled across these today on Ebay. I have never seen these photos before. Looks like the Essex Wire team in the back at SAI LA. Some great photos in the back of SAI and a couple inside the shop working on CSX3009. (Do not copy.... :P :o ;D)

Looks neat
In the final photo 552 there is a dark cobra. The roof is folded in at the top mid. Does it look wrecked and smashed in from the rear?
Thanks for posting ! those are neat photos 8) there is a lot to see in the background of these images, the Gt350s, there is a pickup
in one of them also, and for SZABO, maybe something unseen re: buildings, inside & out ?

Yeah, I think you are right. Sure looks like the back half of the car is pushed up and buckling in the middle of the wheel well.

Yeah, exactly. A lot of great detail in the background.

Definitely. Bent upwards from the rear.
In the right back ground of the photo above linked by Cobra Ned, any ideas on the trailer with the logos above the stacks of tires and rims ? I lose resolution when enlarged.
Mike
maybe someone was doing doughnuts and backed it into the blast wall nearby. kind of looks like the same angle. Someone ended up in trouble wrecking a new car. Oops sorry boss
The Cobra in N554 looks like it has a Weber DCOE crossram configuration rather than the usual 48IDA's. I've never seen that setup on a Cobra before.

It's crumpled up high just behind the Door, looks as if it fell back off a Lift.
WOW great finds Brian!!!
These are an incredible group of photos from around 10/65.
That BENT up 289 Cobra must be mentioned in the registry somewhere?
All those completed 66 GT350s, some R models, and that huge tire pile...What are they for or from?
Have we seen that dark painted trailer behind the tire pile before? (with the angled vertical stripes.) Who was that for?
The LAX details are fantastic, such as;
-The side entrance to the blast wall. I didn't know that was there
-The back west corner of the race hanger. I believe that ground floor section was just added on, at that time.
-Inside the race hanger. It looks really dark in there...must be the film speed.
Is that is Skip Scott with the 'B' version of that 'King Cobra' CM/1/64 B in the Pete Brock designed body version.
I'm not sure there are many photos of that car in the ESSEX WIRE livery floating around.
Very nice to see that teams' haulers as well. I've never seen them before.
So much to see in these photos!
THANKS for posting!!!

Essex Wire was/is a long time Ford supplier. I remember getting Ford Heavy Truck electrical components from Parts & Service Div. with Essex Wire tags.
Since Skip Scott raced a former Tour-de-France Mustang at 65 Daytona Continental, and later P1026 under Essex Wire were they a "semi-factory" team ?
But how unusual was it to have SAI provide "service bay" floor space in the hanger to a race team?
Perhaps it was how they were provided the latest race modifications??
just wondering

Wow Bri, nice find! Someone in This forum really needs to acquire them. They are negatives to boot. just think how much stuff like this is still sitting in drawers at home, or in a shoebox in someone's attic.
AWESOME find!
And, by the looks of the pictures, the 66s must be early, given the side shot of one with Cragars.
Also, if my eyes don't deceive me, it looks like the ones in the upper right hand corner (facing away from the camera) don't have reverse lights. Could this picture have been taken prior to the end of September 1965 when Carryovers were stacked like cord wood waiting for parts in order to ship???
Looking at his other items has anybody seen an early Shelby with a vinyl top?

Yep 6S001
But the one in the picture posted in the ebay ad is possible a different car or something else is going on. Notice the interior
yep no pony interior. Ive seen two different cars of the outtakes of the 66 Sales brochure and always wondered if there were two cars used in the ads
I think this has been covered here before, can any lead me to, or tell me more about this car ? I know it was an ex Tour de France
car, did this car go to Comstock Racing in Canada at some point ? In the photos the car has different #s, 71 in one photo and 199 ?
in another, there is a Daytona coupe in the next stall. how many times did it race ? I haven't my registry at hand, is it in there ?
Mike
The 71/199 Mustang was driven by Skip Scott, not by the Comstock Racing Team, it was only there at CRT during a visit of a journalist and described as a clapped out car in an article (Car and Driver without looking up). Yes it was DPK7B, the (in its class) winning TDF 1964 car sent over directly after TDF 64.
Later went back to HM and then being driven by Jack Brabham, finally being sold to the Netherlands and later on wrecked in a dutch salvage yard. Much longer story, but ..to take not too much space here.
