Branda presents a $5 aftermarket C6DZ- style sender (larger width than C5DZ-) in a NOS FoMoCo C5DZ-10884-A box up for auction!
I don't think this is intentional, however they should know better.

also I don't believe a NOS unit would have Teflon tape wrapped around it.
just my 2 cents

brandas magazine ads also state that some of his parts are MCA approved. lots of items on his website state the same thing. MCA has not approved parts for over a decade.
Something to be a aware of was a habit of some to replace a used or defective part in the box of it's replacement. I don't know how many times I have found used parts for sale in the new Ford boxes at swap meets etc. It is always difficult to convince the owner of those so called NOS parts of the reality. I have seen this even in parts boxes taken from dealership. Not to say this happened here however it has duped many. FYI although not used at the engine plant back in the day later service temp senders did use the Teflon tape. There is also a TSB about it being acceptable to use (years later) also.
There are a couple of Ford "box/package" buyers out here in So Cal. There are also many people "scrounging" for Ford packaged parts at garage and estate sales who have no clue about the part inside. Usually the same ones that list every part common to a Mustang as an original Shelby part. "Well I didn't know , I just looked up the part number on the internet" , is the normal excuse.
