Here is an offer directed towards "media attending The New York International Auto Show (NYAS)".  First day of rental is free when renting either weekly or for a three day weekend.  Just use the special promo code number (102244) when making your reservation with Hertz.  This offer pertains to the '07 Shelby GT-H convertible or any other "Fun Collection Vehicle".

Craig, my car (#229) was purchased from Galpin by the first owner after rental use.  Very cool, and I have not seen one of these flyers before.

I like this thread.  I will blow it up with the ridiculous amount of GT-H stuff I have collected over the years.

My first item is the one and only  2006 GT-H production banner that hung in the old Las Vegas production facility in North Las Vegas before they moved.  It  hung over the production facility for years before I acquired it.

We all know the 1:18 2006 GT-H die cast cars the were made in several versions (as seen in the first picture) but there was a prototype of that die cast car.

The second picture is the prototype of the 1:18 2006 die cast that was ultimately produced for Shelby.    There were at least 3 versions of the 2006 1:18 die cast model that was sold over the years. The prototype car was sent to me by one of the former Shelby managers a few years ago.

When the 2016 GT-H was unveiled at the New York International Auto Show in March of 2016 there were several Shelby executives and Media VIP's that attended the event.  Many of the VIP's had passes that allowed them access to the new 2016 GT-H and I was lucky enough to have a former Shelby executive send me a couple of the passes.

One is a Team Member pass and the other is a Media VIP pass.

Here's a "three in one" picture with some cool items.

This picture includes GT-H Hertz prototype emblems that were proposed for the 2006 cars.  Ultimately both prototype color proposals were rejected and the emblems that wound up on all 06 and 07 cars were finished in chrome (second picture).

The GT-H licence plate and the small key chains (in both pictures) were items that Shelby sold at the old Las Vegas Museum.

The 2007 GT-H patch that's in the first picture was given out to employees and were intended to be sewn onto their 2006 GT-H employee jackets.  I'll show you that jacket in a future post.

The shirt appears to have increased in value (collectability) more than the car.  ;)

The trunk mat

For the first time in 40 years the Shelby name returned to Ford cars in 2006 and 2007.

Just like the original 1965, 1966 and 1967 they traveled from FoMoCo directly to Shelby American to get modified and recieve their own Shelby vehicle identification number.

A limited edition of 500 specially modified GTHs were released to select Hertz airport locations in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington

The legend was back

Things arenít worth what we want them to be worth, what we paid for them, or what we emotionally wish for them to be worth.  Their values are determined by the market, based on what others will pay

Therein lies the answer :  something is worth what someone else will pay for it.
