Special thanks goes out to Steve Hall at the Mustang Museum for being such a gracious host. The Museum is just gorgeous, well worth a visit if you're in the Charlotte/Concord area. Only a mile up the road from the Charlotte Motor Speedway. Lots of very interesting cars on display, and walls filled with memorabilia. Do it if you get an opportunity.
Brian Glover conducted the Club meeting and shared some of his Shelby-Cobra collectables with the members. You'll see in the photos what an outstanding collection Brian has acquired over the years. Each item on the display has its own unique story and history. Where do find all this cool stuff? Thanks for sharing it with us!
Thanks to everyone in the Club who showed up to share their rides with us. Some really outstanding Shelbys were there again today. Woody bought his 67 GT-350 new and still enjoys it. How about that! 65's through 69's on hand today.

I see the museum has "closed" and moved across the street to some non-descript building to "reorganize". Hopefully the true story will come out, but word is it was not making $$ on admission, but a lot of people who paid for bricks, books, etc and donated $$ are not very happy wondering where all the money went? I never understood the place, if it weren't for people loaning them cars to display, there was not really much reason to go there. Time will tell.....
That's a shame, I hadn't made it to the museum and intended to make it there this year.
These venures always seem to be short lived.

Where are you seeing that?
Museum sent out an email on 1/6 announcing the move and new address, the rest is on Mustang Owners Museum Group page on FB. Museum cited no reason other than for "future growth"......
Communication I received on 1/3 since I have a car there presently:
As we head into 2020, we have a number of major changes coming to the Museum.
The biggest change will be moving the Museum to a new location, 4005 Dearborn Pl., literally across the street from the old Museum location.
We realize this a complete surprise, but we wanted to make the announcement after the move was completed. Your loaned vehicle is still on display in the new Museum. Nothing has changed in the care and security of your vehicle.
We hope you will understand the move was necessary to make the Museum more financially sound.
While we are disappointed needing to move, the new facility will give everyone an enjoyable Mustang experience, with room to grow and add new features.

I questioned the 'health' of the museum a few months ago when we were there, and I was told they had very deep pockets, yeah right. I questioned why Ford wasn't sponsoring it. They told me Dennis Carpenter donated the land for the building. Perhaps he wanted it back?

I just heard from Steve Hall, the Director of the Museum. Here is what he sent me:
"Brian,
The Museum is not closing. We did move the Museum across the street, as we felt it was important to be in a location that would give us the financial opportunity to grow. The expense of the old Museum would not let us do so.

I think we have to give them the benefit of the doubt and not spread rumors that they are 'going bankrupt' or anything.
