Title: Shelby trucks
Post by: Mikelj5S230 on November 08, 2019, 09:54:28 AM
I know maybe nobody cares about the trucks, but I am looking to replace my Shelby F-150 before too long. However, it seems Shelby is only making 5 liter trucks, or huge diesel dually things.  I am wondering if anyone knows if they might use the new Ford 7.3 liter engine they are putting in F-250s for a Shelby upgrade?

Thank you, I have tried to call, but the people who answer don't know anything about the engine, so either I am talking to the wrong ones at SA, or they really are clueless about new Ford offerings.

Hi Mike
What's happening is that almost all the S A employees are at SEMA. I sent a message to Scott and Gary inquiring about the 7.3 availability. Hopefully soon we will have an answer
Take care

I have been asking over on the Shelby F-150 group pages too, no one seems to know anything.

Is there a reason you are interested in the gas 7.3L over say the new power stroke diesel with 475 HP and 1050 torque?  Just curious.

Yes, I hate diesels and would never buy one.  Simple.

Thanks Tony, sounds like it could be years away.  Hope my '16 Shelby F-150 holds up a bit longer, too bad.

Mike what I would do is give him a call next week probably Tuesday, Wednesday so he can settle in from being out this week at sema. Ask if you purchase one will they do the conversion.  Dont believe that they will turn down that opportunity.  Good luck and have a great weekend.

Thanks Tony, but I think they like to sell them as pre-title Shelbys, that is what my F-150 is, dealers only have them, no post-title conversions I know of, but I will ask if that is possible.  Cheers!

I finally got a reply from the Team Shelby Administration:  "Well anything is possible. But if you are asking if the Tuscany/Shelby truck program is going to produce production trucks with the 7.3 the simple answer is no they are not.

Steven"

So, Shelby will not get my business for a new truck.

Unbelievable reply from a niche marketer. You allowing them to cater to your needs for a vehicle that I guess would be in excess  of $100K and to not work with you is foolish.  Their loss.
