Title: Ford vs. Ferrari
Post by: kansascarguy on November 18, 2019, 04:38:34 PM
Saw it Saturday. Going to see it again this evening. I haven't done this with any movie since Star Wars - in 1977. It's really a fun movie and paints Shelby and Miles in a great light. American ingenuity and greatness on steroids. The hangar scenes at SAI are a rush - the cars! You hero members probably know whose cars they are. Anyway, if you haven't made plans yet, ...............

BTW - movie also painted Beebe as quite a major prick. I have no idea if that's true or not but I'll wait for the ensuing testimonies.

We liked it immensely.  Four of us went as a group, two are 66 years old, two are over 70.  I had to pee, but held it for more than an hour, didn't want to miss anything.  :P

I've now seen the movie twice and looking to see it at least one more time before it leaves the theater!  8)

The portrayal of Leo Beebe was "interesting". I remember Beebe giving a
short talk at one of the SAAC conventions. Carroll was seated in the audience
and he "corrected" Leo on an inaccuracy or two regarding the Ford GT40
LeMans program. I still chuckle when I think about that one. Shelby ripped
him pretty good. Makes me wonder what kind of reception Leo would've
received if Ford vs Ferrari had been released beforehand.
