Title: 65 Fuel Level Sending Unit Resistance Numbers
Post by: mygt350 on December 10, 2019, 11:39:50 AM
Can someone tell me what are acceptable resistance levels (full and empty) for a 65 fuel level sending unit?
Thanks

Thanks Jim
Looked in several locations but could not find the resistance numbers. Unit I am looking at reads 10.5 and 80.5.

Are you having problems with the readings on the gauge?

Fuel gauge has an issue and was replaced. Mated new gauge I got from Brant at Virginia Classic Mustang to different sender with new float and filter and now have cluster with a fuel gauge that is really close to actual fuel level. Just need to get time to put cluster and sender back in car.

I had an original unit restored. The voltage regulator was a problem as well.  Sometimes the problem is right in front of your nose. it makes it so easy to overlook.
I'm glad you have it sorted.

Did you replace the voltage regulator? Which one did you use?

I have a nice functioning temp gauge but now the fuel gauge dropped out. I have to do a wiring routing check.

I suspect that I have a bad sender wire through the rocker panel.

The fuel sender isn't new, but it was replaced with a Ford unit before. I have not pulled it out of the tank to check it.
