I posted this on the Boss 302 Forum also (no response) so I thought I'd try it here too. Does anyone know the magazine/issue that this centerfold was in? I like this photo so much I have three copies of it, one being in a frame since I was in high school when the magazine first came out.
I hate it when sometimes magazines don't have their name and issue info on the bottom of the pages. It never seems important at the time to note things like that, but then later in life it becomes very interesting to know the source of something you like.
Thanks,
Kieth

Kieth, I think that was Road & Track ? I'll have a look tomorrow.
Mike
Thanks Mike, I hope you find out which issue!
Kieth
Cool picture, regardless!
Kieth,
I'm pretty sure that was done with CGI. ;D
Brian - NICE. ;D
Actually, it was done in a soon-to-be-ancient method - on a printed medium called p a p e r . :o
THAT makes me like it even more...
The magazine, I believe was "Auto Racing", subtitle: Magazine of the World's Greatest Sport. I have a number of issues
and each month had a center spread in color. I have that issue, but would need to dig into the "basement archives" to
find it. Was a nice magazine devoted entirely to motorsports. Sam Posey wrote an article on each Trans Am during the
1970 season. Good insight from a driver's perspective.
two come to mind road & track and car life
Kieth, Road & Track, January 1971 ;) The centerfold is of Jone's # 15 car, the test in the magazine is of Follmer's #16 car,
Parnelli's was to beat up to use. Image included of the cover, sorry 'bout that Chevy ::) that's the one they should have built back
in '71.
Mike
ps: that issue is pretty easy to find on evil-bay, just make sure it has the centerfold !
Mike,
Thanks so much, I really appreciate it! You know, I do have that magazine, and I was actually looking at that article, but as it was all about Follmer's #16 car it put doubt in my mind that the #15 car would be the centerfold when the whole article was about the #16 car.
So, Mystery Solved - well done. You could coach those guys over on the Boss 302 Forum!
Thanks again,
Kieth
Fordimages.com has this picture I'm pretty sure and others of the #15 Car that are worth checking out.
