Title: 65 Mustang Alt Lamp Wiring
Post by: mygt350 on December 24, 2019, 02:40:30 PM
Looking for help getting Alternator lamp to light up when key is on. Schematics I see show short wire with bullet connector from ignition to the pink "resistor wire" which is consistent with the wiring in the car. However, schematic also shows a black/green wire gong to the charge (alt) lamp. But both harnesses I am looking at, pink resistor wire connects to pigtail off ignition and routes to firewall. Where do the alt lamp wires actually connect to?
Thanks

Find ignition switch and trace wire 16 (red/green) from back of switch to the bullet connector that transitions to 16A (pink resistor wire). At that bullet connector, appears there is a black/green wire (30) that runs to the alt lamp. From lamp, turns into 904 (green/red) to main block and on to the regulator. Have 2 harnesses and see the black/green (30) and green/red (904) going to the charge/alt lamp in cluster. If 30 doesn't connect to back of ignition switch, where does it connect?
