Hi gentlemens, please , can somebody explain to me the date code on Rotunda oil filter , is 6 for JUNE ? and the the 4 numbers down how do we decode them ?
thank you.
My understanding currently is that the top number identifies the type and in turn the application(s)
Lower number code is the date code plus an additional code.
Do have at least one example with only three numbers at the bottom but it appears it is not from the 65 period - the focus of your question.
Could date be 4 april 64 9th just guessing

So far I've not see any with 5 or 6 digit lower lines which would eliminate the possibility of it being a month - year - day of month pattern like (for example 126531 for Dec 64 31st
Right now with only four digits being the max even month - year - and machine/worker ID doesn't work
We need allot more clues/examples of originals to figure out the code IMHO
That's quite an artifact you have there.
I have some black short assembly line break in filters here from the Dearborn plant now those are RARE.
Like an Indiana Jones golden idol.
Thank you for the answers !
just wanted to add that I have the exact same assemblyline 65 oil filter as per pictures but my 4 digit code on the bottom is 4650.
Is it just co-incidence that the one in the original post is 4649???
