In court at moment in Will County. Spotted a lawyer here who looks almost exactly like Matt Decker from the planet killer episode. I went up and told him and a colleague of his was in total agreement.
I should have asked him "Matt, where's your crew?"
"They're on the third planet."
"Matt! There is no third planet!"
"Don't you think I know that?! There was. But not'ny more!"

The episode was called the doomsday machine. William Windom played Commodore Decker. He knocked it out of the park! His ship was the USS Constellation. They used the wrecked constellation to destroy the planet killer, right after Decker committed suicide in a shuttlecraft by ramming down the gullet of the machine.
I watched it primetime back in the 60's. Left a lasting impression on me of what the future could be. It was a great show!

Nothing to laugh about. You have any idea how many became doctors in real life because of McCoy or engineers because of Scotty or men of science because of Spock? These guys I still hold on high regard at the age of 56. Same for Shatner. He was a role model for me growing up to emphasize innovativeness under pressure or simply not giving up when all seemed lost.
Yes! Very well said! Every person on the show was an inspiration.
Watch it all the time on Roku, BTW I'm 57 and used to watch it in prime time as well and left a lasting impression 8)
