Title: Looking for 1970 Mach 1
Post by: gt350bp on February 27, 2020, 04:17:24 PM
Looking for my 1970 Mach 1 that I sold back in the late 1980's. Last seen in the Akron / Youngstown, Ohio area about 5 years ago. Car is yellow with black deluxe interior with gray inserts and standard hood with turn signals. The car is a 351-C with 4-spd, console and no tachometer. I had installed a Sun Super Tach on the column and also had a white plastic Hurst T-handle, Hooker headers with Lakewood bell housing and traction bars. Options were slats, front and rear spoilers and had 14" magnums with original Polyglas spare. One odd feature was that the car had the reinforced shock towers like a big block or Boss 302. (Serial # OF05M163764)

Would like to locate with the hope of being able to purchase.  Any leads or information will be appreciated.

Don,
I live in the Youngstown area.  I will keep an eye open for it when the weather gets better to get the cars out.

I know of a car that fits that general description in Canton, OH. The owner is an acquaintance of ours that we run into once or twice a year. He has owned the car for at least 15-20 years or more.

Rodney,

Good morning!

I sold the car to Jack's Ford in Sarver, PA and the car sat in the showroom and in Ronnie Jacks personal collection for years. I heard it was sold on E-Bay, but had lost track by then. When I sold it, I had just restored the car and it only had 26 miles after the restoration when Ronnie made me an offer when I stopped by the dealership. A salesman drove me home for the title and spare parts. Sold the car to fund my 65 R-Model replica project that I still have.

Please keep me posted. Thank you.

I doubt this is the right place to look for a Mach 1? There is a little overlap with Shelbys but not much.

The trail has run cold in Canton, Ohio about two years ago. Any help or info on this Mach 1 will be appreciated.
