Here's the corrected page 23 for the 2019 edition of the 1966 GT350 Registry. I call this the "Decoder" page, but the actual title is "1966 GT350 SERIAL NUMBER GRID CODES". SAAC printed this at the end of last year's "Shelby American" annual.

Cory,
In the printed Registry the example box at the top of the page showed a 1966 VIN, but the data was for a 1965 GT350.
Among other things, the printed page in the Registry has codes to show factory battery location (front or rear) which don't apply to 1966 cars. The wheel choices in the printed Registry were 15" steel, 15" Cragars or American racing Mags – all choices for a 1965 car. And it did not have codes to indicate factory transmission (auto or manual) because that wasn't an option for the 1965 cars.
The corrected page shows the transmission codes and codes for the actual wheel choices for 1966 cars. Plus codes for whether the car came with over-ride or under-ride traction bars – something not mentioned on the page that was erroneously printed in the Registry because that wasn't a choice for the 1965 cars; they all had overrides.
There are probably more issues than these, but this will give you an idea of why having the correct page with the correct data for a
1966 GT350 is important.
Steve
Thanks Steve for the corrected page!

Hi Ron,
I have never seen a OEM yellow or gold 66 GT350, but I suppose it is possible. They may have been added to cover a few cars that have been changed to these colors. This set of color codes is below the "Lower Right: Present Features" heading. Why there is two sets of color codes could make it confusing. For example Lower Left color B = Blue and Lower right Color code B = Sapphire Blue.

Mellow Yellow 66 GT350

It is a little confusing....as I read it those color codes are not original colors, but are for the present condition color, which could be anything, maybe they are all the colors owners have reported? As Cory mentioned gold would include the Marv Tonkin 66, 6S2134, and yellow would include Mellow Yellow 66 GT350. The original color codes are higher on the list.
One original car was yellow, 6S2376 convertible.

Hi Dave,
You are right. There was one OEM yellow car, not included in the original features color codes. IIRC, this was called Springtime Yellow, code 8 on the Ford warranty plate.
Take care
