Wanted to Buy / Fan Shroud 68 GT500KR
« on: December 16, 2022, 04:29:23 PM »
So, I'll ask the question knowing it's going to be a long search.

I'm looking for a fan shroud for a 68 GT500KR: C8ZE 8146 A or C

Cheers

Well, rocking horse shit would be easier to find than an A or C.

That said, I have a C8ZE 8146B, if anyone would like to swap for an A or B.

I've done a bit of a search here, I understand the C8ZE 8146A would be the correct shroud for a 68 GT500 KR.

Can anyone tell me what the C8ZE 8146B is off?

Cheers

Thanks Pete,

So based on that I can assume all is good....and that the buck tag is the correct rotation number that would have been put on the car once built, and the build sheet roation number is based on when the car was ordered?? Just curious now...

I'm sure this has been done to death before, however here goes.

The cars history checks out via the registry and marti report. I also have the original build sheet, problem is the roation numbers don't match. I have 247 on the buck tag, and 265 on the build sheet. Do I own a dud?

The car is a 1968 GT500KR.

Cheers

Hi all,

Just wondering how hard should it be to fit this pump (441-s) to a 428CJ? When the bolts get a little over half way in, they get incredibly tight. I haven't forced them as the pressure is so tight/hard I think that they strip. Is this normal?

Thanks in advance.

Hi there,

A few years back i purchased this pump from you. Quick question, how hard should this be to fit? The bolts get incredibly tight before they go all the way. I haven't forced them as yet. And by tight, I mean tight.

Cheers

Steff

OK, so the correct distributor for the 68 GT500KR is single point,,,

What is the correct one for the automatic? C7OF-12127-F

The 1968 distributor situation is interesting. The engineering numbers we've listed here are clearly documented in Ford literature, but we've received multiple reports from owners that describe finding the C8OF-D distributor with a single diaphragm vacuum advance on cars equipped with an automatic transmission. Coincidentally, Ford TSB number 1415 (dated 31 May 1968) describes the C8OF-D distributor being used with both manual and automatic transmissions. To top it all off, other owners have described finding the C8OF-J distributor on 1968 Mustangs!

Which one should I be looking for?

Cheers
