Were the air cleaner bases black or gold?

I have found conflicting info online.  Branda's site says black.  Virginia Mustangs says gold (specifically says to paint a blue part gold for a Shelby).

Some Mustang guys told me their K-code bases were gold.  Everything else gold was removed so maybe those were sprayed black at SA?  I saw a guy today at a show that had worked on some original GT350s and said they were black.

The assembly line photos in Chuck Cantwell's book are black and white, and it's just a tiny stripe that is visible. But, if I had to guess, I'd say they are black in those photos.

Looking for consensus/confirmation.

Would using an outdoor LP gas stove (instead of an electric stove/hotplate) be inadvisable due to any flammability of the solution?

Obviously you do not want to put oil or WD40 into a flame, but that's not what is heated on the stove.

Ah.  That makes sense.  I recall Cantwell saying they spotted those braces at the factory and specified their inclusion on their fastbacks.

No shock tower "export brace" with the reinforcement at the cowl (in both the vintage and new photos), or was that a later addition?

What is the length of the stock idler arm vs. the Shelby version?

5.25" stock vs. 6.25" Shelby?  (I think that is correct, but I am looking for confirmation.)

(Any background reading material available on "Pookie" so that I can inform myself?)
