Thanks Chris!

Any advice about getting the stove choke to stay in the manifold?

And, the line just slide into the stove choke, correct? No sealant or expansion?

Hey guys -

I just received a new choke stove fitting and filter (repop from Mansfield Mustangs) for my 68 GT500 stock exhaust. Couple of questions -

1) It isn't offering any resistance, just kinda slides in and out. I had assumed it would need to be 'hammered' in. Is there an installation trick?

2) does anyone have any images of how the whole system should look? Having trouble visualizing how the lines run from the fitting to the carb.

The engine is currently on a stand, so it's something that I would like to get right before I drop the engine back in...

Hey all,

I have a spare C7AE-F GT500 aluminum intake manifold that I'd love off my shelf -  $750

Also have a set of GT390/428PI exhaust manifold dated 7H10 (passengers) 7M14 (drivers) - $750

You both are absolutely right - Pete's website has been a godsend. Without it I'd have had dozens more questions. But, as a newbie (and zero disrespect - - as someone who has built a few websites in my day and knows the time and effort that goes into building content for every page) there are some areas that aren't covered. Maybe it's because some things are more obvious to a seasoned restorer. I'm happy to speak further on the UI or content gaps, if asked of course, but barring that I'll stand behind pure gratitude for his time, effort, and expertise. So, thank you Pete.

Chris and Bob - thank you, as well.

Chris, I do have a question sorta in the form of a statement - in the picture you posted of the vac tree, I noticed that the hose from WP to block is painted blue, along with the straps. I have to assume that its correct, though have never noticed it before...?

Hey Gents!

I've finally received my engine back from being rebuilt... 14 months later. I'm sure I'll have a lot of questions moving forward, but for now just a couple...

Was there a carb spacer used?

Anyone have more information on the vacuum fitting on the front of the intake by where the coil rests? Pictures?

Same for the tree that goes in the thermohousing?

Is the pulley on the AC compressor black or silver like the case?

Rather not go the repop route on this. Any good used ones out there?

There is a difference between tilt and non-tilt trays, no?

This post is so much better to see and read than so many of the other posts out there.  This is exactly what SAAC should be about.  Of course this is only my opinion.

We share the same opinion Doug.

I appreciate the kind words and help. To be honest, I was a little hesitant bringing this to the board... Haven't seen much in the way of 'basic' questions and I didn't want to waste anyones time. Furthermore, and just to put it out there - I take full responsibility for not better documenting my tear down. I have over 1000 images, just didn't cover enough!

To that end, if anyone has some images and/or best practices for reassembling the front end (fiberglass, shelf, brackets, etc), it'd be helpful!

Thanks pete!

So, whats the process for mimicking or replicating plated gold cadmium? Or, at the very least, bringing out the shine of an original?

Happy summer fellas!

Gearing up to reassemble (a year later) and resources are a little lighter than when I began! Hoping you can help me out with some finishes and naming a handful of questions marks...

Motor mount brackets? (Black?)
Alternator bracket and arm? (black?)
Sway Bar bushing bracket? (Natural?)
AC idler pulley? (Black?)
Lower AC bracket? (Black?)
Water Valve Motor and Guard bracket? (Goldish looking?)

These are the big question marks for me, as far as parts and finishes go -

Thanks for any help!
