Thanks Bob-

Just ordered the shop manual @ Virginia Classic-

With 10 days of forecasted rain in Portland ( which usually means rain the rest of the winter)  plenty of time to jump into a few projects so shop manual will be helpful.

thanks again

Best

Thanks Jeff and Bob-

H pipe bare steel it will remain- easier work!

If you come across the spec for the caliper mounting bracket bolt I would appreciate it .... I am half tempted to crank it down but that has gotten me in trouble before on bolts!

Thanks again- I always appreciate the experts on the forum!

Thanks in advance for any replies-

On 1604, mounting bolt - front caliper to mounting bracket-  I have one bolt that seems to work itself loose wondering if I am under torqueing the bolt? question what is proper torque setting for this bolt.

Unrelated question, is the H pipe supposed to be coated black similar to the headers?  I am installing Scott Fuller exhaust system and want to make sure coating is correct for this year.  If so, is there a certain ceramic code ?  Maybe I am overthinking this one....

Thanks for any help

I thought I had an understanding of the topic but now I am seconding guessing after reading the links and looking at the pictures.

If I understand it correct (short version)- 1st printing has "optional" in normal type and same for  "one inch", no hole punch shadows, see pictures of what I have....but my front cover looks very bright and more like the picture posted by Dave as reproduction. So does that mean there are reproductions that have the internal pages similar to 1st printing but the outside cover would determine it as a reproduction?

Thanks

On my car 1604, the white needle is beginning to separate so this post is a good reminder that I need to add that to the list of winter projects.  I have never looked at how difficult it is to disconnect the tach..any watch-outs?

« on: November 25, 2020, 03:28:50 PM »
As I took out the radiator last night for a bit of work I discovered that the fan shroud is not original so I am now on the hunt for an NOS replacement.  Please message me if have one you would like to sell.

I have used Marcus @ Anghel Restorations for some work and he is incredibly professional and honest with an eye aimed at perfection.  I haven't used him for exactly the need you have but if he says he can do it.... I would trust his word.

1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / a few questions for 1604
« on: October 13, 2020, 11:44:35 PM »
Members,

A few questions-

I read the recent post about Scott Fuller exhaust systems which was helpful and has sent me down the path of replacing mine.  As I request date code specific from Scott what would be the appropriate date code for exhaust on 1604 which was delivered in April built during the first half of March.

Last question, as winter approaches I was planning on taking out the radiator and alternator given Jim Cowles is closed ( note on front page of his web site) where are the next best location(s) to send these two items out for repair / rebuilding.

Thanks

Cory James

Wanted to Buy / Re: 1966 drip rails
« on: February 20, 2020, 04:08:34 AM »
Interesting fact that at some-point it was common to use rivets.  It just looks like a poor effort at repair vs anything professional.  I am away from the car but will post pictures... now second guessing that they might be rivets.

Thanks for the replies
