1967 Shelby GT350/500 / 67 smog
« on: May 26, 2021, 02:21:21 PM »
I have owned my 67 GT500 for many years.  It was built 1/10/67 in San Jose and should have a smog system but does
not.  I'm not sure if it is likely that I could find the parts to assembly one.  i would appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks.

I have owned my 68 KR conv. w/4 speed for over 20 years.  I have seen different sales numbers like 518,318 etc.  Does anyone know how many were sold?

1968 Shelby GT350/500/500KR / KR steering column rebuilder
« on: June 04, 2020, 05:40:20 PM »
My steering column shakes when I pass over a small bump in the road and I am looking for a quality
shop to rebuild the column.

I have done all the easy stuff like new wheels & radial tires, balancing & alignment, balanced drive shaft, rebuilt steering box, new front springs and I'm out of ideas.  I have owned the car for over 20 years and have taken it to two shops, one a shelby restorer but without a solution.

Thanks.

I have swapped tires and wheels from a 67 GT500 that had no vibration.  I notice the vibration mostly when the road is bumpy or uneven.  I do not feel vibration on the interstate unless there is a bump or pothole.

Thanks for the help.  I have owned the KR for 25 yrs and the steering wheel has vibrated for years.  I thought it was wheel balance but new tires and balancing along with drive shaft balancing and steering box rebuild has not helped so I thought it may be in the steering column.

Anyone know of a source for rebuilding the steering column?  Can I remove it without removing the engine?

Thanks.

I'm adjusting the distributor points on my 67 GT500 and seem to remember that .20 is the gap.  Is that correct?

Thanks,

Doug,

Thanks for your advise.  I assume the choke idle screw is  the one under the carb.  Should I adjust them on both carbs?

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / 67 gt500 idle settings
« on: April 15, 2019, 08:07:23 AM »
I have the original holly 600's and the hot idle is 1000 rpm but cold idle is too low and I want to adjust them higher by turning the screw under the carb counterclockwise but want to know if I should increase both carbs or just one and, if so, which one.

Thanks for the advise.

Thanks for all of the help with the power steering hoses.  I finally did get the clamp oriented properly and things are looking better now.  I also have concourse
short hoses but haven't installed them yet.
