2007-up Shelby GT350/GT500/500SS/500KR / Roll bars, Cage
November 28, 2019, 05:37:47 PM
I am locking for a bolt on roll bars to my Shelby GT500 -13 with glass roof and Recaro seats.
Most of the bolt on type is not for glass roof. Does anyone know if Watson Racings bolt on roll bar 4-6 points can fit? What model do you have?

Yes I have only this one there. Its not a proportioning valve and if i follow the line is not there.
Where can I by the right one and the distribution block?

My cut is not into the battery chemicals. If you cut in cc as the new battery size at the bottom of the repro -68, you should not go into the lead acid but the case is thick. Discharge it before you cut. Use goggles  8) ET

I have cut out battery from the bottom inside the -68 repro 24 i bought from Antique Auto battery 2015. Battery inside the case is Enersys Odyssey PC925 28Ah/20h. It is normally a well working  battery but the have use a non good orientation. I do the same but use a C&D Dynasty UPS12-150MRX 36Ah/20h in the best orientation for a AGM battery. We normally use this but in larger size for genset. GT500 starters take about 2KW, about 200 Amps so its OK for it. This battery can take 269 Amps for 60 seconds (gone in 60 seconds). Short Circuit 1475 Amps. I also change the red cap to the yellow cap and sticker from the repro top i bought from NPD but have the body/case still there.  :P ET

Look like mine Keith. Can you measure the diameter? Bob said, only successfully becomes a 67 GT500 balancer after factory machining to the edges of the diameter have been done to champhered edges (for sway bar?)  Erik

I think its the original one sitting on my GT500 428PI. Could it have been used on 427 to? You mean I must take away pulley and blast it or clean it before sending it for rebuilding. I can`t find any email to Damper doctors website and they don`t answer at there web forms. Will be in LA, San Francisco, Scottsdale in January.

I think I need to rebuild my harmonic balancer, crank damper. Should I do it or will I destroy an original hard to find part? I can't see any ignition figures on it. I have it now in my hand. Who is the best for this job?  Damper C6AE-6316A and pulleys C1AE-6312A. Ford has change number on that damper.

Holley carbs date code 6O4 or 604? Sometimes date code 991 on Holley BJ, BK carbs? Letters and numbers?

What date is 6o4 at that carbs, early GT500? I have 2 carbs in my garage that have date code 991 for C3AF-9510BK List2804. Did Holley made it for another cars or was it normal stock items? Erik

Thanks Bob. Have the factory 1 or 2 steel sleeves/side? Seems to be 2 sleeves at Ford manuals. I have a set new Scott drake bushings without the sleeves and that old one from -93 is with one sleeves inside. How was it made to work from factory? Is it just to tighten until sleeves stop it? It will be the sleeves that determines how tight all will be?

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Strut rod bushing replacement
October 07, 2018, 05:06:04 PM
Start to change my GT500 strut rod/bar bushings from last change in -93. It have 3 washers? I will now have the OE style when changing with 2 sleeves inside the 2 bushings between 2 washers. All kit I have seen today is with 1 sleeves for the 2 bushings that goes into each at the front frames. Same instructions video have the rear washer opposite/toward the bushings? Where can I find the -67 OE style? Or is it correct to have 1 sleeves inside bushings for my Shelbys? How long should sleeves be if that is the only chose today for proper radius rod function with oe bushings? There is a lot of incorrect installed ones out there.

I have confronted the seller, All classic motors, LTD JD Larson about the original of the pulley and other parts they have.  All is reproductions he try to sell to me as original nos parts from -67. He has refunded my money. What company can we trust for parts to our genuine Shelbys? Erik
