Nice article about driving vintage performance vehicles featuring a 1967 Shelby GT500 owned by Phil Bell.

Money quote: “You have to have a much higher level of respect for the car,” he said, “because the car doesn’t have anything to save you. There is no nanny system. It is just you and your steering wheel and your right foot and the road.”

This happened this week at our local Ford dealer: https://www.fox13news.com/news/car-goes-flying-onto-citrus-county-car-dealership

I wonder what they'll give him for his trade-in?

The Lounge / Dove Engines
« on: April 09, 2019, 08:41:56 PM »
I've been researching power plants for my 68 fastback project and I'm leaning towards a Dove aluminum 427 side-oiler with tunnel port heads and a single 4bbl. I have a price from Dove and it's very competitive with other FE engine packages out there (Pond, Shelby, etc. - but none of them are tunnel ports). My target is 650+HP and 550+ torque. Does anyone out there in Shelbyland have personal experience with Dove engines and would like to share their opinion. PM me if you want to keep it on the down low. Thanks! ~Kevin

Wanted to Buy / Looking for Avon Take-offs
« on: April 08, 2019, 04:06:36 PM »
I'm looking for used-up Avon CR6ZZ tires to verify clearance issues on a 68 Mustang project that I'm working on. One 245/60R15 and one 295/50R15 is all I need. I don't want to buy new ones because they will be at least a couple of years old before this car is running. I could use other brands of the same size, but the profiles are not exactly the same. I'm in Florida, so the closer the better! Thanks! ~Kevin

1968 Shelby GT350/500/500KR / Look what I found in the pumpkin patch...
« on: October 28, 2018, 07:07:43 PM »
Spent Saturday at the Ocala Pumpkin Run car show and I came across another 68 GT350. I saw this one at the Silver Springs show in January (he won 1st place for his class) but I never took pictures. He's not a SAAC member and it appears this was a lost car since the registry only lists the original owner. It is a dual serial number car and he spent many years restoring it (and he's not quite done yet). I'll post pictures here the "hard" way so you can enlarge to your heart's content!

And Old Barnesy was there too!

I have several old magazine articles featuring my car that I would like to post but I don't want to violate copyrights. Anybody have a guideline that I should follow to stay compliant? Thanks!

Came across this on Facebook today: https://youtu.be/vdSwJ2xNnu0

Not my style of music, but it is a song about a 68 Shelby. Kinda.
