1967 Shelby GT350/500 / 289 Hipo Crossovers
« on: May 13, 2022, 10:32:57 PM »
Has anyone here covered or plugged the crossovers on their factory intake on the small blocks? Could the crossovers make that much extra heat to cause a perculation senario?
Would there be many or few out there including 65/66ís that have done the same?
Iím trying to eliminate why my 67 is getting fuel dripping down onto the secondaries after parking the car and it sits for about half an hour or so, the fuel then runs out each side of the butterfly shaft and drips onto the intake, only doing this on the rear barrels, no issue on the front ones.
I pulled the rear bowl off today and the float is set at 1/2Ē
Checked fuel pump pressure and itís 5-6 psi.

« on: March 28, 2022, 02:08:26 PM »
Confirming the open element air filter for 67 GT350, does it fall under 65/67 F Special?
I measured the repro filter I have right now, and those dimensions are a little more than whatís printed here
The replacement number on the sticker goes to a C7ZZ 9600-F which falls under FA-41

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / HiPo Choke Cable
« on: February 28, 2022, 12:01:37 PM »
Im looking for the length of an original HiPo 67 Choke Cable.
I see some saying no C on the knob and some say with C, did it vary in 67?
What I think is my original cable has a C.
I bought a repro one a few years back, but the mounting bracket doesn't match up to the style of mine, Ive noticed too that the air vent cable/know has the same style of mounting bracket, but with the addition of the two fasteners that holds it in place combined with the E Brake handle bracket.
Right now the cable is mounted to the right side of steering column and Im told it should be to the left next to the kick panel , but I don't have enough length to move it to the left.
Any help would be appreciated.

I have pictures but canít get them from phone to here?
I think that by seeing the dash mounting bracket, that will tell the story.

« on: August 10, 2021, 11:02:10 AM »
Iím looking into a few options for coating my pair of 289 exhaust manifolds, spray can version Iíve read some use VHT cast iron gray, I spoke to a coating company and they would prep them and ceramic coat in cast iron gray colour, cost is more, but maybe it keeps its colour better? Any thoughts on that ?

1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / 66í Brake Rotor/Hub
« on: June 15, 2021, 12:14:57 PM »
Are original 66í front hubs anything unique on a Shelby? I found a package of hubs & rotors in my stash here, that had  been changed out by the previous owner , also The rear brake linings have a wide grove running through the centre about a good 1/4Ē wide, is that a factory deal?

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Speedometer Reading Correct?
« on: September 30, 2020, 02:10:42 AM »
I took my GT 350 for a drive this morning, Iíve ever been real sure how accurate the speedometer is. So I wrote down a few numbers when I got back. Do these numbers seem close? I know first gear is long, but doing 60mph feels a bit slow, but maybe itís different in an older vehicle.
I really need to get side by side with a new car to compare, but just wanted to throw this out there first.

 3.89 rear end

20 mph @2000rpm in first gear
30 mph @3000 rpm in first gear
 60 mph @2700 rpm. In 4th gear

Parts For Sale / Restored 69/70 Complete Auto Shifter Assembly
« on: July 15, 2020, 03:23:16 PM »
I took this out of a 69' with console. Original chrome is very nice, I dissembled the mechanism and bead blasted the mounting plate and shifter linkage. The Black Deluxe T Handle is original and in beautiful shape, along with A NOS chrome release button. I replaced the rubber shifter seal and indicator bezel. Wiring harness is original and perfect, light works well. This is ready to install , I also have the standard Chrome T Handle if your car needs that version.
I can send pictures if your interested , email me for them. Price is 175.00
