SAAC Forum Discussion Area / 65-70 leaf spring date code reading
« on: February 24, 2019, 05:39:27 PM »
Can we discuss the date codes on 65-70 shelbys  and  mustangs to clarify things?

I have early car samples   which are julian dated then the month then year.    Why did they do julian date and the month ?  Then number should tell you which month it is..

I have later 68 leaf spring that I do not understand  which    reads     C7ZA  5556 AM  then the date is 85K      what is 85K?   this is on an original  gt500KR..

then have 69 leaf S9MS that is back to julian then year   no letter designating  month..

I have a limited quantity of the very hard to find rear output seal for the Big output four-speed transmissions.   This is the thicker  seal that has the felt inside as well as the rubber seal .    Is a very hard part  to find for Concours correct cars.I’ve heard stories of some guys cutting apart tail shaft housing’s just to get the seal   Because the Ford service part was incorrect

« on: August 27, 2018, 01:07:44 PM »
Was the C8OE-B used on 68 gt 500krs?    The reason I ask is I had an older gentleman just call me and wanted to buy one of mine  for his 68 gt500kr  and said his original one had  that part number.

Concours Talk / shock hardware differences.
« on: July 29, 2018, 09:17:46 AM »
Can we do a  quick refresher as to when coarse thread and finish started on shocks?  I have shock hardware kits completed  and would like to get my info correct before I list them.

I thought it was always 67 fine and then 68-70 coarse.  But I  attained some info from reliable source that leads me to believe 68 had fine also.

« on: May 13, 2018, 07:03:47 PM »
What metal line is correct for 68 gt500kr  running from brass fitting on intake to brake booster hose?  Is it the same as 69?  The one i have on there now has multiple bends  but i am thinking it is the style that comes straight out and only has one bend going rearward slightly..
