Replicas and Tribute / New 67 "Shelbys"
December 05, 2023, 08:11:11 AM
Now available, new 'Repromod" 67 GT500 and GT350s. https://hitechlegends.com/

I have seen them and whatever your take is on "Continuation/replica/etc." cars, these are very well built. Done by Hi Tech Automotive in South Africa the body is not an off the shelf Dynacorn but rather assembled by Hi Tech in their own jigs and fixtures. The people I know who have driven them were impressed with the handling and solid feel of the chassis.

With Revology and others in the Repromod business, Hi Tech was determined to be different and provide what they feel is a superior product.

I have no connection with these other than being friends with the factory owner so no skin in the game for me.

We have organized a 60th anniversary event to encompass all 'Ford GT" cars. In conjunction with the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix event at Pitt Race July 26-28, 2024.

Original FAV/JWA cars, Kar Kraft cars, continuation cars such as Safir, Superformance, Holman Moody, etc. cars as well as Ford Powered replicas such as ERA, Toronado, SGT, etc. are welcome as well. The 05-06 Ford GTs will be there as well as the new 2017-up GTs. If it is a Ford GT with two seats and the engine behind the driver, it will be there. We already have commitments for some historic cars to attend so stay tuned.

We have six acres of paved area for parking and display. Your "Master" entry will get you and your GT in with secured parking for your car as well as trucks and trailers. Nighttime security is by the Pennsylvania State Police.

Your entry will get you a lanyard with your I.D., car chassis number, possibly a picture of the car, and indicate all of the events you are signed up for. A "swag bag" with numerous GT related items and other things will be included as part of your entry.

Additional crew, family, friends, etc. will be issued lanyards at a modest cost.

There will be several vendors with GT related items including cars on site.

Friday evening a gathering will be held in a hotel, the Pittsburgh Marriott North about 20-25 minutes from the track. This will include a one hour no-cost beer and wine bar, a dinner with three choices of menu and an after-dinner program of speakers, videos, meet and greets and more. If you don't want to buy the dinner, you are still welcome to attend after the dinner for a small fee. There will be a cash bar available.

We will have four "on track" events over the three days. These include:

Paced, but spirted laps for all cars that purchase the option. Passengers will be allowed, and no helmets are required.

"Open track" time. This will require tech inspection and helmets, no passengers. This is also an extra cost option.

A "GT only" race on Sunday. This will require a prepared car with full race safety equipment, i.e., fuel cells, roll bars, etc. the driver must hold competition license from a recognized organization such as SVRA, SCCA, HSR, etc. This is an optional item with extra cost.

Cars entered for the GT race may also compete in the PVGP "Ground Pounder" class for additional track time including practice and race event. This also extra cost but selecting this will include the GT race at no extra cost. See Race Groups – PVGP Historics | PVGP.

Additional, GT owners will have the opportunity to provide rides during the lunch break. These are done to raise money for the PVGP charities. People pay for a one lap ride around Pitt Race and there is a long line of people looking for a once in a lifetime experience in a GT. Fun for both driver and his guest passenger and a benefit to the charities.

Lots more information to come. We will have costs, a list of hotels with special pricing and more shortly. Our websites will go live in a couple of weeks and news and details will be on them.

To get on the list for email details please email: info@fordgtreunion.com and put "GT reunion" in the subject line.

We already have a couple of SAAC member who are helping with the event, i.e. with registration, parking and other portions of the event. Participant registration will be via MSR as with SAAC Conventions.

Looking forward to seeing everyone and everyone having a great time! We can't wait.

December 02, 2018, 03:15:04 PM
The original owner of 02369 is a friend, neighbor and ex-Shelby and then AAR employee. 2369 has some race history as well so if the owner is around or anyone knows the whereabouts of 2369 contact me and I will put you in touch with the original owner. rick(AT)timemachinesauto.com
