The Lounge / Pete:
« on: July 27, 2019, 04:31:39 AM »
Pete and I spoke outside of forum purview. I explained the one issue that I had been bothered by. A misunderstanding.
My commentary also wasn't directed at Pete with the exception of the one issue. It was several issues.
This is what happens when grievances aren't addressed. It creates hostility.  Font can be VERY dry and I felt blown off.

There is no one that loves the cars more than I.  What can be problematic is how we respond to others. I am used to'being very direct
so there is no confusion with instruction. I will have to learn that people can't look at my expression or hear the demeanor in how I speak here.
In that regard, I will try and be more thoughtful in how I approach subject matter.'

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Reproduction Remote and manual mirrors.
« on: May 13, 2019, 07:15:01 PM »
Has anyone had an issue with the mirrors not staying tight and losing adjustment. If so, did you come up with a fix for it?

Does anyone have a length measurement and pictures of the correct stud, nut and retainer for the 1967 with 10 spokes?
Once again, a "concours" product is wrong and too short to set the plate and start the nut.

Had CA started chomping on vintage collector cars and taxing them to death? I know there were two states looking at using the collector guide as a value to base registration and taxation on for said vehicles. Has that come to fruition? Carbon Taxes?

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / 1967 Shelby GT500 Thermostat Housing "Clone"
« on: March 05, 2019, 04:15:45 AM »
This is the housing I modified and re-textured to look like the C7AE-A until I located my NOS a few years ago. It's quite a bit of work, especially the file work and re-texturing it to look like cast aluminum where all the filing and shaping was done. It even has the "dimple" on the end. I'm putting this one up for sale.
To all but the trained eye it looks the part.

The headlamps are also dimming and then get brighter. My guess is a diode issue. What say the peanut gallery?

The Lounge / Blast from the past..

I was going through a box of old periodicals and manuals and I stumbled on these.

To my good fortune he can't drive a manual transmission.

I have an original loose leave Sunbeam Tiger Catalog/ Performance parts. I was thinking about running a few copies and putting them up for sale if there was interest.

I cut the studs down, trimed and fitted the trunk mat and finalized the wiring and adjusted the striker for the trunk pass through door. I cut down the studs and was filing them to remove the sharp edges. My thumb found one I missed

The Boss 302 modification book has a conversion to lincoln fron calipers, 12" disc. Has anyone done the conversion from ford components. What will I need.  Yes, I know Cobra automotive offers their version. 2200.00 is rediculous.

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / 1967 GT500 Dip Stick Ford Part Number?
« on: February 17, 2019, 03:16:40 AM »
I have a Cobra Aluminum T-sump Cobra pan. It is listed as a 6.5 quart capacity. When there is 7 quarts in the pan it registers right at the Add line. I have the dip stick that was in the vehicle when purchase in 1982 and I wanted to confim the number stamped as correct for application.  It is stamped: C7AE-6750-A. I also have the factory Ford 428 windage tray, which I haven't ever heard of any interferemce issues. I remember reading that there was a TSB that required the change of the dip stick which changed the indicator marks for the added oil capacity. ( 6 quarts)
I thought that would make sense under the circumstances.

My 67' GT500 has the Arning drop with the Global west spacers. I just really got a good look at header clearance as well.  A bit on the low side. The Arning drop should only lower the car about 3/8" and the springs 1" . To the lip of the wheel opening edge is 23.75". Anyone else have a measurements  from floor to weel opening edge centered with the wheel centercap?
