That could be plan C - although itīs always complicated to have inch-sized items made in a metric world ! ;D

Usually I would use Cobra A. But the price plus shipping, customs and tax to Germany would probably bring me to about $350...
Was hoping for some less expenditure.
Plan B is still going to more standard, shorter ones.

Replicas and Tribute / Long racing lug nuts

Hi - I am looking for a source for the long, open ended racing lug nuts. My car did come with a set, the shouldered seat type with washers.
But - for a different set of wheels I need tapered ones.
Cobra Automotive does sell them, I know - are there any other sources ?

Thanks !

Ralf

1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / Re: Condensers for dual point?
« on: February 25, 2021, 12:35:04 PM »
In my experience the best condenser available is this one : https://swiftune.com/parts-shop/ignition/swiftune-competition-condenser-2.html
They explicitly developed it for racing engines and as much better and more reliable alternative for all the aftermarket copies.
I had a lot of condensers fail in my pre war racer, since using the Swiftune one (since 2010 now, without change !) no more problems.
Highly recommended - and I am not affiliated or get free ones !  ;D

Mine is also lowered, tires are 225/60x15 Avons on Torque Thrust. Fenders had some clearance work (rolling, smoothing of lips). No rubbing.
We had to put in some more camber just in case for having it registered here in Germany to be on the safe side (they test quite thoroughly).
Rears have plenty of room - will try 245s soon. 225s look almost lost...  :D

Northwest Region SAAC / Looking for David L. Schroeder, Portland
« on: February 11, 2021, 01:21:38 PM »
Hi everybody - sorry for posting this here, too...
I am looking for a former owner of my car (not a real Shelby, but clone, evocation, tribute or whatever... ;) :D ).
His name is David Leroy Schroeder from Portland. He did own the car from ca. 2000 to 2008/9, when it was sold to France. The french owner unfortunately doesnīt have contact details.
Mr Schroeder seems/seemed to be quite active in Vintage racing, mostly with Porsches. He also took part in the Forest Grove Rotary Concours at least once with the Mustang.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Cheers,
Ralf

Hey - great find - thank you !! It did look good without the stripes. They are not painted, so maybe I remove them again ?
The car had been sold definitely in Dec 2008, I have the bill of sale and also the customs and registration papers from France, so, maybe, Pentecost just used a photo he had ?

Chris - thank you for your reply, but I am looking for the one who owned it before it went to France. I have been in contact which the French man, he has been very helpful but couldnīt find any contact informations from Mr. Schroeder in Portland.

But here are a few photos how it looked when still in the USA - it did acquire stripes later when on our side of the Atlantic. ;)
