Up For Auction / Re: 1968 Shelby Tail light frames
« on: July 15, 2018, 07:40:44 PM »
Mine have no black paint, no part number and have some slight chrome pitting.  Thought they may be original but couldnít find any part numbers. I have no use for them, but donít know if there is any value in a used set needing chrome.

Do originals have any part numbers on them? I have a used set, but can not verify if they are original or not.

Thanks

SAAC Forum Discussion Area / Re: The future of the SAAC
« on: July 10, 2018, 11:49:05 PM »
1. SAAC is what it is and thank God for that.  It has always been a bit mysterious in its ways, but the bottom line is that it is good for the sake of the cars and preservation of history.

2.  SAAC Forum is what it is and will always have the problems that a public forum will have.  It is an invaluable resource for sharing current information and sorting out the past history of the Shelby American cars.  We all have different agendas and not all will always be pleased.  That is life!

3.  The value of the cars is out of our control.  Enjoy them for what they are now as eventually the world will more than likely frown upon CO2 producing machinery.

Letís stop over analyzing and enjoy driving, improving upon or just staring at these beautiful machines!

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Re: Suspension Picture Thread
« on: June 16, 2018, 04:08:27 PM »
My 67 GT 350 has the 1Ē drop A arms, 1Ē drop 620 coils, konis and an adjustable rear sway bar.  Although not original, drivability is much more enjoyable. Adding the Konis was the best single modification I have done.  Adjustable rear sway bar also really helped out in the rear.

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Re: C7ZE-A HiPo heads
« on: June 16, 2018, 12:25:46 AM »
All but very early 67 k codes should have the C7ZE heads based on my research.  Prior to Dec 66, I believe should be C5OE castings. I think first castings were dec 66 and I have seen both thermactor and non thermactor versions.  The next batch I have seen would be 7B3 dated ones followed by 7E8 dates and 7E11 dates.  By June 67, they were replaced by the C8ZE heads. I have seen those both drilled and not drilled.

I have yet to see a Jan, March or April 67 dated head.  Not to say they donít exist, but I have not seen any.

I know Wedgeman well.  He is not a liar!

My brother outran cops twice.  Once in his 69 Corvette and once in his 66 Shelby back in the day.   This world we live in today makes that nearly impossible, I agree.  Back then, things were a little different.
