News from HQ / Re: Oldest Shelby owner George Dedekian

It is so nice to see that George Dedekian (age 98 and original '67 GT-500 owner) is still with us as noted in the fall edition of the SHELBY AMERICAN.

I haven't seen him in many years but he and his late wife Eleanor were a driving force along with the late Dr. Bob Kerwin ('66 SHELBY #144) as they were the SAAC reps here in New England for many years. George's '67 is pictured in the old SHELBY BUYERS GUIDE wearing the Massachusetts plate HSSSSS. Wishing you many more years sir.

There was a time not too many years ago when American cars looked uniquely their own and did not try to emulate cars from overseas. Can you imagine plucking someone off a street anywhere in the USA in 1970 and taking them for a trip forward in the time machine to 2020 drop them on the street and ask them to guess what country they're in just based all the foreign nameplates? Not in vogue to drive an American nameplate anymore...shame how times change.

Great story Ruben. It was a pleasure meeting and having lunch with you, Nick, and Brian, at The MCACN show last November.

Met him several times at Lime Rock and once at Laguna Seca over the years...always a gentleman signing autographs and taking pictures with fans.

Best money spent to be part of a great community. I joined in 1981 as a 13 year old fan who grew up with my dads best friends '68KR (#4166) that he had purchased new at Tasca Ford. I was lucky enough to buy my own Shelby at age 23 and owned it for roughly 22 1/2 years before selling in 2014. Met lots of wonderful people from all walks of life.

What size tires were the big block cars, street and SC delivered with?
Street 427 cars had 8.15 x 15 Goodyear Blue Dot tires...The S/C cars had 11.40 x 15 Speedway Specials at the rear.

How about the Cobra Caravan Press Kit?
