1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / Re: Original heater hose stripe color?
« on: November 10, 2020, 07:40:45 PM »
BOB.

thanks for your reply.  im happy to be corrected if im wrong with my hoses. Since your reply ive been trying to find the images you sent me 3+ years ago when i bought a set of original heater hoses from you to compare my example to yours.  could there be a assembly plant difference through the years or maybe multiple suppliers??

The car i took the above pictured hoses from was a February 66 Mustang X San Jose assembly plant and without wanting to argue im rather confident the hoses where genuine to the car. I bought the heater box, plenum, defroster ducts and tubes and they where all original and in perfect condition.

i have some other hoses on hand from Dearborn 66 cars and a example from a December 64 San Jose car will attempt to dig them out and include on this post

I think the option of actually finding genuine NOS heater hoses is a bit of a pipe dream, your best bet will be locating good used originals.

i agree with you about the Marti examples, not my favourite when doing a concours restoration.

i have attached images of a set i have removed from a unrestored 66 mustang several years

FORD AUSTRALIA is taking deposits already for the 2021 MACH 1, which will be in right hand drive configuration. i have had 4 dealers contact me already must be a big push to promote them here.  Numbers are supposed to be limited to 700 cars, 450 manuals and 250 autos, but prices still to be confirmed.

The first pair sold pretty well, so lets sell another pair!

This is my last pair.

Send me a PM if you have any questions.   (No, I will not end early.   :) )

yeah they did well beyond what i thought they would go for. so good deal for you and lets see if the second set goes for even more.
will be sitting back and watching.

makes me think what a correct pair of NOS 65/66 examples would go for if they ever hit ebay.

1965 GT350/R-Model / Re: ASSEMBLY LINE OIL FILTER ROTUNDA CODE
« on: February 13, 2020, 10:15:14 PM »
just wanted to add that I have the exact same assemblyline 65 oil filter as per pictures but my 4 digit code on the bottom is  4650.

Is it just co-incidence that the one in the original post is 4649???

Concours Talk / Re: Mobile Concours Judging Trailer
« on: January 18, 2020, 10:51:30 PM »
BRIAN.

for approx. 8-10 years now in Australia we have been using the ramps as per your picture.  that was version 1 which had limited success now at most state concours events or our National show each year we have now gone one step further and hire out a ford dealership service bay for the day and all cars go up 6-8 feet up in the air on four post hoists.  makes the undercarriage judges job a lot easier and gives you a better appreciation of the details and effort some owners go too.

this is only relevant to concours original, throughbred and concours modified classes, not display class or show or shine

why this hasn't been done in the US im not sure, but it think it would be a fantastic opportunity for all involved.
normally the judging is done on the Saturday prior to the Sunday display and all cars who get judged in the above classes must be present on the show field on the Sunday.  that way all people get to see the vehicles that where judged.
